Older hotel. It is what it is, and what was expected. It was well maintained, and clean. These types of places usually have lots of personality. This one was no exception. The room we stayed in was in the back, so quiet, and had a small kitchen. We didn't really meet the staff as we got in late and left early. They left a key for us. I played an old Tony Bennett's greatest hits album (there were a few other choices, all old gems) on the old style record player, which put out about the same quality sound as my first record player – the one where I played my 45s. Ahhh. I thought it was just perfect for our needs. Unfortunately, we did not leave a tip for the housekeeping. Neither of us was carrying cash!Lisa, wish you had a Venmo QR!

The place is meant to be “retro”, but it is really just OLD. The driveway to the rear rooms is potholes with a fence that is falling down. Chemicals stored next to building. Reasonably clean, but we found mouse droppings and spiders. Left our reservation next day.

We rented a room for the Halloween Festival this weekend, And it was great! Super cute and retro. Had a turntable, and a cute little make-up/hair dresser corner in the wash area. Located within walking distance to downtown, and all the shops, restaurants and brew pubs! The bigger rooms with yards were booked, but we'll book early next time and hopefully get one of those.

Proud Native

Being a native of Brevard I’ve never stayed here until now. Wow! I was proud of this little gem! Didn’t have much interaction with staff but when I did, they were friendly and helpful! Those little sugar packets in cellophane for coffee are just teasers, lol. Even though it sat next to a busy highway traffic sound was not an issue. My room was clean and cozy! My bed was comfy and my two small dogs were welcome. Fixtures in the bathroom reminded me of my grandparents homes and good memories. Simpler living. What you see is not what you get, there’s more! Meaning, behind the rooms is a little oasis of picnic tables, hammocks, fire pits and areas for relaxing to enjoy nature! Oh, they also provide waste bags for pets and disposal box. If you enjoy feeling like you’ve come home, this is for you! Thank you Sunset Motel!

I liked the uniqueness. Not a chain motel trying to keep up with the most recent fads. Nearby traffic was a bit louder than I expected, considering the town has a 35 mph limit.
