My friend and I had such a wonderful time here visiting for a friend’s wedding. The homestead house was adorable and in a great location, and Sherry and John were wonderful hosts that were responsive and provided delicious breakfast goodies, as well!
Super cute historical home in a great location, but the best part was the huge back yard! We really enjoyed spending time under the trees and stars! Our hosts were great and the homemade bread was delicious!!
Great location..very peaceful and relaxing stay. Loved the history of the house. Will definitely return! The owner was responsive to my question which was nice!
We had a wonderful stay in your beautiful home! It had lots of space, comfortable beds, and everything we needed for a great stay!
It was wonderful being so close to Mercer and all the activities and stores.
We loved this historic house! The hosts are so nice and the breakfast breads were delicious! The home has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Clara's House. It was just the right size and the location is superb. Very convenient to everything. The bread and snacks were delicious. Thank you again for letting us stay.
We loved staying here! I felt like I took a step backwards in time and walked into my grandmother's house. We felt right at home and was in walking distance of the shops
The house was nice and cozy. It came with everything we needed and the fresh bread and fruit was perfect for breakfast. The grounds were nice and clean. We also enjoyed the Christmas tree and decoration. Beds were nice and comfortable.
We stayed in Clara’s House this visit. As always, the house was great! The hosts make sure every visit is perfect! The three options they offer are all as good as you‘ll find.
Beautiful historic home in close walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. House was clean, comfortable and cozy. Lovely grounds surround the home and the owner delivers delicious banana bread and coffee cake each day. A very enjoyable stay!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful, historic property with us! Hospitality and communication were great. The property was very clean and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Several shops and breweries were within walking distance and we enjoyed much of what beautiful Dripping Springs has to offer!
My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at Clara's House in Dripping Springs. The house was immaculate and cozy. The yummy sweetbreads, bagels, yogurt and juice were an added bonus at breakfast time. We enjoyed evenings on the front porch after a day of sightseeing and shopping in Dripping Springs , Austin, and nearby Wimberly. Sherry and Charlie are the owners, and I enjoyed hearing about the history of the house when I met them. We would love to come again next time we are in the area!
This old house was a joy to stay in . It was meticulously maintained & cared for . We slept very well in this quiet house . It had all the comforts of home.. fruit & snacks & drinks & 2 nice loaves of bread. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ! Thank you
Great property. Timeless with history, quaint. Very convenient to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Aside from being near a busy street, it was fairly quiet. We enjoyed listening to nature and sitting on the patio in the rocking chairs in the evening; very delightful. Only complaint was the bed was fairly uncomfortable and the AC at night didn’t stay very cool; the reason for 4 stars and not 5. Otherwise this was a very nice place to relax and unwind. I would definitely recommend and we would come back and bring friends with us because there was an extra room with a queen bed.
The breakfast basket was a nice touch- the homemade breads were delicious! Thank you to our hosts. Extremely easy check in and check out!
It is always a pleasure to stay at my grandmother‘s house that Charlie and Sherry have done such a fabulous job of restoring and maintaining! I always feel that I am going home when I get to stay and it will always be to me Big Mama’s House. We were able to view the eclipse from the front yard. Everything that you could possibly need is there. Dripping Springs has even grown in size and there are many more things to do which I find makes it very enjoyable. We were actually lucky to have the National Guard in town to oversee the celebration. I was able to give several a tour of the house and reminisce about times that I spent there as a kid. I look forward to returning again soon. Thanks again Charlie and Cheri for all that you do to make it always feel like home , I remember all of the great Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners that Big Mama was able to prepare in the kitchen. She could’ve fed half the town at that time. We never thought of it as being too small.
