The unit was spacious. We had problems with the toilets and we heard a screeching sound from one of the bathrooms that continued through the night. This noise was so loud we weren't able to sleep. The property manager was gracious and came to our unit around 9 PM and fixed one of the toilets. We also had to purchase bath gel for the shower and soap for hand washing.

We were very disappointed in our stay at La Casa Serena and expected a better value for the cost. Yes, the location was great, communication good etc. but the unit isn’t as presented. I think we had clean beds but housekeepers need to do a much better job. There is dirt in the woodwork in places, especially the master bath. The living room carpet had not been vacuumed and was faded and worn. Then we cooked with pans and utensils that were unsafe due to wear and tear; spatulas ready to break, handles on pans ready to fall off, and old burnt pan bottoms. The dishwasher did not work and we were notified the day we moved in. There was one wine glass and the other glasses did not match. It would take the owners very little money to improve just those items. Will never stay there again and we also will not recommend the complex to anyone else. The pool and hot tub should be fixed or at least unlocked so renters can sit in the sun. And last but not least, the laundry room could be cleaned and brightened up.

Hello Janis. So sorry to hear our pots pans etc. are worn. We have lots of guests and we do replace them each year. Our manager woukd have been happy to replace them, but did not hear from you. We have asked her to go ahead and replace them now (we don’t live on the island so did not know). In some exciting news after more than a year off line, the association has concluded its upgrade of the pool and spa which are now open and welcoming! I have also asked the manager to have a deep cleaning done to address any outstanding issues, and have notified the association of your observation about their laundry room. We do apologize, and hope you enjoyed the island despite these inconveniences.

Not an accurate description
We booked this place specifically because of the pool and hot tub. Imagine our disappointment when we get there and the pool and hot tub are in the midst of being repaired. The description says the pool and hot tub will be closed for repairs in 2023. Our trip was in February of 2024 and still not done. The address given is incorrect. Brought us to the wrong place. It was very confusing. I would put the correct address here but I'm sure it's not allowed. I will contact the host and explain the issue with the address and, hopefully, she will make the correction. Other than that, the unit was immaculate. Close to everything. Well appointed kitchen. T.V. in both bedrooms which I appreciate.

Dear Guest, We regret that the association’s refurbishments have taken longer than expected. While our VRBO listing was out a few months out of date (updated now) the check-in instructions we sent to you immediately upon booking did say that the work was still ongoing and offered a full refund if you chose to cancel. We are sorry you missed that and were disappointed and also confused by the legal address (so much for Google maps!) Glad you enjoyed the other amenities of the unit and the balance of your stay an Catalina!

House not cleaned upon arrival
Check-in time for this property was 3:00 pm. When we arrived at 3:45, the property had not been cleaned since the last check-out. Called the property manager who was apologetic and sent out a cleaning crew, but we started our stay by sitting outside for over an hour while waiting for the place to be cleaned. Aside from the rough start, the place was comfortable and was plenty of room for our party of 4

Relaxing stay on Catalina
My family stayed for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend. It was very comfortable for my wife and I and our 3 kids. The location is a short walk from the harbor, but it’s further back where it’s quieter. Great location and we’d stay again.

Charming place with a few miscues
The pool has been out of service for over 6 months and does not appear to be anywhere near ready for use, but the property description still shows there is a pool available. Be aware there is no pool. There were a few missing odds and ends in the kitchen, otherwise we had a very pleasant stay.

Fantastic location! Super cute and spacious!
Booked this cute condo for the half marathon/10K weekend. Loved the proximity to the starting line of the race! Was able to walk down just a few minutes before the start. Very clean and spacious unit and nice quiet complex. The unit was nicely equipped with dishes, coffee, and a few basics should you need. The pool/spa were under construction, but we knew they would not be available during our visit. The proximity to town was excellent. Did not communicate at all with property management so I cannot adequately review that. I put 3 stars for that category but really it was an N/A. Everything else 5 start for sure. Would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely unit. The walkability factor is really a huge plus.

Nice space and a good location. Comfortable sleeping conditions. Best for a family not 4-6 adults. Needs some TLC - many things need some up keep/repair. Ice maker, Door knob, Toilet, sink. No Pool was a disappointment after a long day in town. Wish it was not listed on amenities.

Awesome Condo!
A great condo for a family. Loved having space and not feeling like we’re on top of each other. We’ve stayed in many Catalina Cottages and all of them are cramped and small. This was fantastic. We didn’t have soap for the dishwasher and sent a text to the property manager to see if that was something we needed to provide, not only did she respond within minutes, she brought over dishwashing stuff right away. Fantastic staff. Only downside was that the property was not ready at 4pm and we were waiting for the staff to finish cleaning. Thankfully, the condo has great shaded seating areas and we were able to relax for a bit while they finished. Understandable with everyone in the world being understaffed so not a big deal. Happy to stay here for the week and will definitely be back!

We had a total blast. The weather was perfect and the distance to town was easily walkable. My only feedback would be that their were still a former renters clothes in the drawers of one room upon arrival - one park of kids underwear and another drawer w some womens clothes. Also one of the phone numbers on the instructions was wrong and so I had to call chela instead of the property manager Ipon checkout to make sure it was clear we left on time. But that’s truly minor compared to the great (super easy) communication and instructions we had w the owners prior to arrival. Still a five star experience.

To be honest with you I was extremely disappointed that the pool and jacuzzi wasn’t available to use. I booked this rental based on that! I had other properties I was looking at and the only reason why I chose this one was because it was advertised that a pool and jacuzzi was available to us. When we arrived we soon realized that both were empty. I would have liked to have know this in advance so that way I could have canceled booking for another property on island. Dealing with a teenager who is special needs and not having what he was told was available for him to use wasn’t fun at all!! Pretty much started our weekend off on a bad foot and I’m still continuing to explain why the pool wasn’t available to use after he was told it was. Over all I was pleased with the home itself but the ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ Is because of the pool and jacuzzi and lack of communication on that not being available to us.

We appreciate the renters sharing their property with us but unfortunately it was not as clean as it should have been. Upon arrival the cleaning lady had just arrived and said she would be finished in "45 min". It was not left very clean. Crumbs in the bedroom next to the beds, trash left by other renters, windows were dirty, the upstairs and downstairs balcony were filthy (not inviting to sit in) with dust, spider webs, dirty floors, and dirty chairs. No hand soap in the bathrooms, watered-down soap bottle in kitchen. Cleanliness is key when we are traveling with our 7 year old and elderly parents. This made us feel unsafe! With the current pandemic situation the owners and management company should make this a number one priority. We are disappointed to have received this kind of welcoming Especially when the rental rates are so high.

We had a great time. I’m not sure what the deal is with an empty pool and jacuzzi. The men,that rented the condo next to us .were very loud and kept everyone up Saturday night. Should get beach towels and pot holders for the condo.

The walk to the Wrigley memorial is just around the corner. We also had to learn that the ER is very close as well. Since we had many more hours in the unit than planned, it really helped that we were so comfortable there.

The condo was nice, clean and met our needs. It is as advertised in the photos. I was disappointed by the common area of the condo property. The pool/spa was closed for COVID and the landscape/grounds were a little un-kept. It was pretty loud at times, as the balcony out front is right on the street where the golf cart rentals drive by all day long.

What a gem of a unit!
Super convenient to EVERYTHING. Walked literally everywhere. Nice unit that was pretty quiet, as it a little tucked away and not on a major street. The unit is well kept. The main bathroom is especially awesome. The shower rocks having 2 showe heads. What luxury! The only thing I would suggest is getting a Keurig machine for morning coffee. I brought my favorite coffee pods hoping there would be one. Found 2 coffee makers, and did not bring (nor did I want to go buy) coffee grounds, especially for me as a solo mon with 2 young sons who do not drink coffee. The owners were very responsive and helpful. I would definitely return to this property.

We loved staying at La Casa Sirena!!! My wife and I took our daughters to Catalina to enjoy a Galentine's Weekend and it was the perfect place for us to stay!!! We had more than enough room with the bedrooms and bathrooms and we all were cozy in the living room together!! We loved bbqing and just being together. It was so easy to walk everywhere and we definitely got our steps in!! You can tell the owners love this place and they take really good care of it. The only downside was that the pool was empty, which is not the owners' fault. We ran into some confusion upon check-in because the address gave a range of numbers rather than just the building address and the apartment number was nowhere to be found on the app or any of the information. I finally saw the wifi name and figured that number must be the apartment number. Other than that we just loved it all!!! Especially the shower with two shower heads, MONEY!!!!! :)

First Timers - Great Introduction.
Great property location with easy walking access to many activities. Residence is roomy. Appeared to have a nice selection of beach items. Residence was not well cleaned - clothing from others in various areas, bathroom floors very dirty...hair and debris from others living room rug was quite dirty,stained, could not sit on rug without clothing getting dirty. Hard wired fire alarm went off several times...family had to manage this. Walls are thin! Neighbors very noisy. Would probably elect to try another experience on our return.

It’s 2blocks from the main road but I didn’t mind the walk. Wish we could have used the pool/hot tub though we understand COVID protocols are still in place. Loved the heaters in the bathroom. We requested another sweep of the home and owner/mgmt were quick to respond. It did feel dusty. We cooked and felt there was just enough cooking supplies though did recommend some new nonstick pans. Watched some movies on the smart tv, remote was a little finicky. Overall we enjoyed our trip, plenty of space, nice quiet neighborhood. We golfed two days and the walk to the golf club was as easy as it was walking to the Main Street (Opposite directions). We loved our time on the island!

True to pictures and easy to find/check in. Living room carpet was filthy/old. We thought the upstairs master bed was super firm (though that may be others preference !). Communication w owner was very hit/miss and a couple of messages were not responded to. Same w property manager but it all worked out by the time we arrived. Very odd assortment of mugs/glassware etc. Unit is dated and could really benefit from upgrade. Many other Avalon rentals have washer/dryer in unit and modern coffee maker not the drip version. Overall stay was satisfactory not fantastic.

My family stayed at Bahia Vista A-05 to attend a Celebration of Life of one of our beloved cousins. From the Island. The condo was perfect for our needs. It was very clean and tidy. Great property for a Catalina getaway!
We were 6 friends that spent 3 nights in Avalon. The 2 bedrooms plus 2 trundle beds were perfect for us. Within walking distance of town, the boat dock, and the Botanic Gardens. Great food/restaurants in town. We did the Scavenger Hunt by smart phone one day and had a blast. All of the beds in the condo were comfortable. The pool was locked due to "covid," which was disappointing.
