The photos online were not of the room we actually had. We had a double room with ocean view. The room was so small and the shower/toilet was so tiny. The pictures online were all of bigger rooms. It did have ocean view which was really nice. The hotel was very rundown and dirty. There were big cobwebs in our room, toilet was heavily stained, stairway was dirty and musty with cobwebs and dead spiders. The lady on the front desk was very nice and friendly but there was no one there when we needed someone. We were locked out of our room due to key malfunction so due to no one being at front desk we had to call emergency number but no one answered and we had to wait an hour for a staff to appear to let us in our room. Front desk would be there 9am and it was 10.05 and there was no one around. There are way nicer rooms for cheaper on the island and the pictures online do not show the room that we actually had. Very disappointing

This historic and charming hotel was a relaxing respite. Ocean breezes cooled our room, through a scenic lens. Nancy, our hotel's receptionist, was very polite, friendly, helpful and professional... she had an EXCEPTIONAL personality!

There was no heater, and the staff did not explain anything. They simply had me sign papers and handed me the keys. I had to find my room on my own. There was no ocean view, and the restroom was dirty. There was also no one available to speak with about requesting amenities. In addition, no one was at the front desk to answer questions when we wanted to check in early, and we were made to wait until 3:00 p.m. When I called, no one answered the phone.

Our room had no view and had a ceiling fan, no air conditioning. The staff was super friendly and the room was clean, but small. The shower is super small, but if you’re looking for a fair and less expensive place for a short time, then it works. The hotel is situated on a hill so be prepared to walk up hill!

Ocean view was excellent. Very pleasant picturesque to have breakfast by the window and work on my manuscript. The room was clean, staff was friendly, all in all very solid. Fan was acting up but I think it’s because next door neighbors remote was somehow sharing signals with our remote.

This was a great place for Avalon, close enough to everything yet off the main drag for quiet in the evening. Nice porch and balcony with a quaint courtyard. Bathroom was small but everything worked well. Shower small but had good water pressure.
