"the place is restored 1931 house. a lot of care went into getting it fixed to the original "Japanese era" style. It's pretty much the same as the pictures. However, at the check in, we ran into a major snags. The listing shows 2 rooms/2 baths, but the proprietor only gave me ONE room of the 2 room listing, because he assumed all 4 of us could fit into a tiny room. That wasn't acceptable to us. "Gorgeous view, lovely room, and serene hot springs. Staff was extremely friendly and pointed out which routes to the attractions were the easiest, which were under maintenance, and how to get to places by bus or by foot. Front desk also kindly helped me search for a lost item, scouring even the bus from Taichung in the process. Bus from Taichung was easy to book, comfortable, and clean. Buffet was delicious. One thing to mention: If you want to eat anywhere but the buffet or the lobby, make sure to book in advance! "
