The Lodges At Craigendarroch Country Club

"The property was incredibly spacious, it felt a little dated at first but the bedrooms and bathrooms have been updated to an excellent standard. The kitchen/lounge area was very well maintained and equipped with everything needed. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the pool area, had an excellent steak in the brasserie and breakfast in the lounge before we left."

"I was a bit apprehensive bringing a group here due to previous reviews and I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised the rooms were a good size , bathrooms seemed almost brand-new, tea coffee facilities, hairdryer, bathroom amenities etc all as you would expect. nice big parking areas, bar was great staff were great and the breakfast was also a decent offering for the Price. If anyone else thinks differently I would happily give them some names of properties nearby which this hotel is twice as good as."

Macdonald Aviemore Highland Hotel

"If you're travelling with kids it will be ideal: there is a soft play, activity room, and pool which are all clean and included. I didn't rate the breakfast, not as good a selection as other hotels and not that tasty. The rooms and communal areas are dated and pretty poor, but fairly clean. The highland hotel has a great veranda which I felt was under utilised by not opening the upstairs bar. For the price I paid it was about right, but it really needs renovating."

"The room was very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. Food in the restaurant was delicious! For some reason, many of the places we stayed (including this one) did not provide conditioner. Not a huge deal, but thought I’d note for future guests. It is a cute small town and convenient to hiking destinations. Also note there is not central air and the windows do not open more than a few inches, so on hot days, the room gets very stuffy. Not the fault of the hotel, though!"

Westlands of Pitlochry

"This hotel in Pitlochry was a convenient stop-over when we were en route from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye. While there are lots of things to see and do locally, our schedule allowed us to stay only one night. The rooms were comfortable if on the small side given the angular walls that followed the roof line. The beds and linens were fine, and the rooms had a nice modern shower. Plenty of parking available, great breakfast in the morning, and friendly staff. The only real drawback was that there was no elevator, so we needed to haul our luggage up several flights of stairs."
