Had a lovely stay at the Commercial Hotel in Tarland. Brilliant base to visit Tarland Trails, food was great and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful! Would definitely go back for another visit any time.

Mo who runs the hotel was very helpful as i had to arrive early as I was going to a wedding before check in time she sorted access to my room as i would be later back. Fiona in the bar was very nice and we had pleasant chat which brought nice end to a great day

The small village of Tarland is very quiet, so we were surprised at just how good the Commercial Hotel is. I understand that a lot of walkers & cyclists use the hotel and I'm not surprised, as it is in beautiful surroundings and only 5 miles from Aboyne. We received a very pleasant welcome, and our room was large, beautifully furnished and very quiet. Whilst we stayed for 2 nights, circumstances meant we only had breakfast although on our last evening, we saw that the restaurant was quite popular. Breakfast was special with a large choice of cook to order food and lots of tea or coffee. We will stay here again and recommend it to any one looking for a nice hotel in the area.

This hotel is a gem staff where exceptionally good food best i have had in a long time, very very clean, if you're on a motorcycle safe parking and a good base for the caingorms. I will definitely return my favourite place yet thanks guys keep up the good work and all the best in these hard times.

I really enjoyed my one night stay at the Commercial Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the hot, lush shower a delight after a week’s camping in the Cairngorms. The food was also good, both at dinner and breakfast. The staff were all very friendly, and Martin - who seemed to be in charge - was very efficient. There was ample free car parking behind the hotel. Overall the Commercial Hotel has the feel of a traditional Scottish inn, right at the heart of its community with a very lively bar. All in all, a great stay - I’ll be back!

This was my absolute favourite stay during our 2 weeks in Scotland! Absolutely authentic experience. The room was clean and so cozy. The food was perfect. Breakfast...omg. And the owner/staff were friendly and so helpful. If you have the chance, do stop here for a stay!

Ein wunderbares kleines, schmuckes Hotel mit viel Charme. Das gesamte Personal sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Ein wunderbares Zimmer mit ausgezeichneten Betten und! Kissen. Hier fühlt man sich sofort wohl. Das Hotel hat auch eine kleine Bar, die sehr gerne auch von Einheimischen besucht wird. "It was nice to talk to you!" Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet mit großer Auswahl am Buffet und einem Extra, dass dann an den Tisch serviert wird. Sehr guter Kaffee und Tee sowieso. Parken konnte man direkt vor dem Haus. Würde ich sofort wieder buchen.

A little gem. This place is clearly a local hub. The restaurant and bar had a great buzz. The service and food were excellent as was the room. Definitely recommend and will stay again when I’m in the area.
