"Checked in at 12:30 am and received our key card. We walked to the room which was in a different annex of the hotel, we unlocked the outer door, walked down the hallway which was on the first floor, approached our door and noticed it was open a crack, and the tv was blaring. We knocked on the door, no answer. Then opened the door to find there were pillows on the floor, the bed was obviously slept in and the tv was blaring. We immediately left, returned to the front desk and asked for a refund, which we were denied since we booked through a third party sight, Hotels.com The clerk at the front desk was confused about how there could be someone in that room, but yet unbothered enough to not go check it out. Kinda felt like a scam. Like possibly she knew she overbooked it.... I was traveling with my 2 young daughters so we filed a claim and left."

"Outstanding remote cabin, great dark-sky at night, only a few cattle as company. Hostess Patti is extremely helpful and a real gem, even returning a yoga mat to me which I carelessly left behind. Well-equipped, modern and comfortable. Great access to the painted hills. We hope to stay there again!"

"We really enjoyed staying at this lovely home. The view was incredible! Hanging out on the covered porches/decks was so absolutely relaxing. It was just marvelous. The house was very clean. Check in was easy and the wifi and TVs all worked without any trouble. There were very thoughtful amenities like makeup wipes and nice quality shampoo/conditioner/body wash... even face wash was provided. We forgot our olive oil and balsamic, but they had some high quality oil and vinegar on hand. It was all these little things that made this stunning, luxurious house feel even more comfortable. The host went above and beyond to provide, so that if you forgot anything you would not be wanting. We came to visit the John Day Fossil Beds. There are not a lot of comfortable places to stay that get you this close to this amazing place. It was about an hour to the Painted Hills. Everything in the John Day Fossil Beds is a bit of a drive. I would really recommend staying here if this is your destination. It worked out really well. Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful place to stay for our Epic trip to Central and Eastern Oregon. We would definitely book again in the future!"

"Cute place! Nice views of the lake. Full kitchen was nice to have, everything was very clean and nicely decorated. The hot water was lovely, it allowed for several of us to take showers in a row with no problem. The hosts were easy to get a hold of and friendly! Thank you!"

"Wonderful spot to unwind, gorgeous unmatched views, easy access just far enough from Prineville to give you nice dark skies at night, but still close to so much adventure! This is my 4th stay, and we will for sure be back. "

"The Millers are great hosts. We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment was clean and cute and for us it was close to our relatives for us to visits but not be in their way. We also enjoyed talking with them and getting to see the Donkey, Mules, Horse, Goat, chickens and other animals roaming the property. "
