The Secret Base was our first stop on our 4 month travelling plan around South East Asia and we couldn’t be happier. Jim & Ping provided us with great hospitality, helpful information and an extremely friendly environment! We stayed in one of their private double rooms using the shared bathroom, we had everything we needed, the air con was great & the cleanliness of the hostel was superb. The hostel has such a unique feel to it and the personal detail added all around provides a lovely atmosphere - it’s clear to see a lot of effort has gone into making the hostel feel welcoming. We couldn’t fault this place one bit and would definitely go back there if we’re ever in Bangkok again! Such an amazing place to stay for such a great price; thank you! If you would like us to review you anywhere else let us know :-)

Hostel with a great vibe!

Hands down my favorite hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Jim and Ping are great people and after staying for five days would consider them friends. Hostel is so clean, had a great chill vibe and is quiet when you want to sleep. Beds are very comfortable and bathrooms are organized well and dry. Very strong WiFi router on every floor. Oh and great craft beer selection! There’s a reason this place has fantastic reviews on every booking site. You can tell when you walk in that this hostel is a passion of Jim and Ping’s. They put a lot of effort into the place. When you arrive you’ll be greeted by Master Yoda (the cat) and they are so helpful with giving you places nearby to eat and explore. If I’m in Bangkok again I’ll most certainly be staying here. Thanks guys for a great stay!

This was one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in, and I'been in many all over the world. Superb hospitality and cleanliness! The place is tiny, but it doesnt't matter as everything works. Great location also! Close to great street food and Chinatown centre, but still very calm area.

施設は清潔です。ベッドも厚みがあって快適です。シャワーは熱いお湯が出ます。とても嬉しい。他はお湯がほぼ出ないところもあるので。湯船はありません。バンコク駅、ファランポーン駅から近くて移動に便利です。これで一泊千円ちょっとなのは安いと思う。ホテルは寝るだけという方には最適です。スタッフはみんなとても優しくて親切です。

チェックインは22時までにも関わらず、私がそこに着いたのは2時を過ぎていた。しかし彼らは快く受け入れてくれた。そして手描きのプレゼントまで用意していてくれた。他にも、私は日本人で1人で３泊予定だった。英語もタイ語も出来ない私にスタッフは気にかけてくれ、その時日本人が泊まっていて紹介してくれた。私はとても楽しい時間を過ごす事が出来た。夜はホテルオーナーの友人が来て１階のカフェスペースでお酒を飲んだり踊ったり。ホテルは電車も近いため、アユタヤは乗り換えなしで行ける。日本人も少なく、タイを味わうなら最適だ。私はまた彼らに会いたいと思う。

Amazing. Perfect. Awesome to start. I’ve been to Bangkok a hand full of times, and no doubt my favorite hostel. The establishment was clean and professional. The staff was above and beyond that. Run buy and amazing young family, everyone was more than helpful with info on the city and help with my time there and getting out of the city. Side note- loved every song that came on in the communal area, every song was a classic or a hit!! Thx so much!!!

This was a very nice, new hostel. Hip, calm, quiet. Awesome, helpful staff. Perfect location! Very safe: locked front and second doors. Townhome-4-storey walk-up style. No elevator... But true for most hotels in this area. Walkable area. Very close to Hua Lamphong subway and train stations--easily walked there in 5 minutes. Walked down Yaowarat Rd. for evening street food vendors and checked out Chinatown. Liked curtains on dorm bed: good privacy--nice pillow and comforter. Small dorm rooms, but felt very private with curtain and nice personal light and plug-in at bedside. Very comfortable and great a/c in room.

By far the best hostel I stayed at, and better than some hotels! Service couldn't be beat, the owners were amazingly helpful and the facilities were very clean, highly recommend!!!

Awesome hostel owners

I was staying in Chinatown for Chinese New Year, which was insane, a LOT of people were there, but the location was off the main road, so it was nice to get away from the craziness and have a goods night sleep. The hostel was super clean, and I loved the theme of feeling like you’re in an underground secret base. The hostel owners, Jim and Ping, were so helpful and answered all my questions, weird or normal questions. They helped me get tot he hostel by the air rail and the underground, and I checked in at 11 pm, and I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to check in, but they were so nice and relaxed about it. I really enjoyed talking with them. The price was good, and it was nice to get a simple breakfast in the morning. Will definitely recommend and wanting to return to Chinatown to stay with them.

熱いシャワー

初めての相部屋に宿泊した。他と比較することはできないが、個人的には女性専用ドミトリー1000円程で3000円程度のシングルルームより快適に過ごせた。ベッドルーム、バスルームの清掃は行き届いているし、建物自体もおそらく新しく、コンクリート打ちっ放しのまさに基地を思わせるお洒落な造りだった。立地もかなり良いと思う。駅から5分ほどで地下鉄や郊外へ向かう列車はかなり安いのでこちらを拠点としてあちこち行くのに便利だった。落ち着きのある中華街の中にあるのでタイ中華をすぐそこで食べることができ、小洒落たカフェやバーなどもあるので現地の人と交流することもできた。従業員は皆親切でフレンドリーだった。わたし自身は英語が苦手なので思うように交流はできなかったが、日本語で挨拶などしてくれる気遣いがありがたかった。凝ったハンドメイドの地図がもらえるので近所を散策するときは参考にするといいと思う。今まで泊まった低価格の宿はとにかくお湯の温度が低く逆に身体が冷えてしまっていた。こちらは水圧こそ低いがかなり熱いお湯が出るのでそれだけで選ぶ価値があると感じた。小さなバルコニーに出ると自分が古い町並みの一部になれたようで大変居心地が良かった。たまに雑種のシャム猫が室外機の上で寝ているが残念なことにすぐに逃げてしまう。朝には玄関の外に餌が置かれていた。私たちのためにも朝には簡単な軽食があり、出発前にリラックスする時間を過ごすことができる。他を知らないがこれで1000円はお得だと思った。
