I try not to leave negative reviews but I feel that prospective visitors should know what to expect. Although the main parlor area and dining area of the house were fine, the “Robert Burnes suite” was extremely outdated and depressing. The website was very misleading. The owner claimed some pieces of furniture were antiques but the old couch was from the 60s or 70s, the other furniture looked the same and as if it had been purchased at garage sales or picked up on the side of the road. The bathroom was outdated from the 70s or 80s as well. There was very old wall to wall carpeting. There was a full kitchen but again it was very run down. We have traveled extensively and stayed at many charming bed and breakfasts over the years—this one was very disappointing. Perhaps the bedrooms in the main house were charming Victorian style, but the suite we stayed in absolutely was not. On a good note, the breakfast was tasty.

Victorian House B&B. Many steps to climb to get to room. Bed was very soft for mu liking. Air conditioning and ceiling fan did keep bedroom cool. Okay for a one a one night stay but would not recommend if climbing many stairs would be a physical.problem.

Hi Micheal, I'm sorry you had trouble with the stairs. All my rooms are on the second floor. There is only 1 staircase, not a lot for a Victorian Home. I would suggest in the future you call ahead to see if they have 1st floor rooms.

This is a very cool Victorian home! Caryn is a very nice host. She bakes delicious shortbread cookies AND the most divine blueberry muffins. We left early in the morning and she left the muffins out for us to grab with coffee since we opted out of Breakfast. The bed was super comfy and it was a quiet night's sleep. I would recommend staying at the Maplecroft.

Awesome Bed and Breakfast
Caryn does an amazing job of making her guests feel welcome and at home. I loved the fact that the food is farm to table and her coffee is SOOOO good!

Our stay was just okay. The bathroom wall in our had a big crack in it and the bathroom door didnt close which was very uncomfortable when using the bathroom. The breakfast was fair. We wont be back.

Very charming B&B in the heart of Vermont
We had a very nice stay at the Maplecroft, which is an exquisitely restored Victorian house. Bedrooms are small, but intimate. The host was very attentive to our needs, and prepared an excellent breakfast daily. She had lots of good suggestions for dinner and sightseeing.

Great little B&B with amazing home cooked breakfast. Our room was a good size with an en-suite which had a lovely big shower. No coffee, TV etc in room but coffee available downstairs anytime and there was also a TV room and lounge area for use. No food allowed in rooms which keeps them clean. Bed was comfortable and towels were soft and fluffy. Nice shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided too. Well located with access to rear through back roads so you could avoid the traffic.

Maplecroft B & B is a nice old house in a convenient location. It is well maintained and very clean. The owner is accommodating, and the breakfast were excellent. Only complaint is that the room was too warm making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The air conditioning seemed to just blow warm air and was no help in the extreme August heat.

Hi Joe, I wish you had said something about the A/C instead of suffering in silence. The next guest that stayed in that room mentioned the A/C to me. Apparently, someone (accidentally I'm sure), set the mode away from A/C. I switched it back for them and it works perfectly.

Excellent inn wita a great location; extremely clean & comfortable. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly inn owner, Caryn. She made our trip even more enjoyable with her advice & tips about the restaurants that were nearby; hiking trails, etc... Each morning we were treated to a homemade full organic farm fresh breakfast in the cozy inn's dining area (Caryn was able to accomodate my gluten allergy, too). It's a true sample of excellent hospitality. Thank you again Caryn for going just that little step extra for the guests!!

It was very nice and fancy. A little spooky. I had a nightmare that took place in the downstairs area. If you’re Into very pretty old timey fancy vibe you’ll be really happy. Such a pretty bathroom!!!

Great B&B
Maplecroft is a perfect place to stay in Berre. In the city center in an old new England style house thats been well kept up. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and are quiet. The breakfast made with local ingredients changes every morning.
