Reviewer Comments: situated on barrengarry mountain in kangaroo valley, our designer barn, @blackstarcountryescape is proving impossible to leave. featuring the most luscious interiors and state-of-the-art furnishings, ‘black star’ is truly a unique and luxurious escape. grand windows and doors provide uninterrupted views of the mountains, mist and sky. ‘black star’ is an oversized barn that is unlike anything we’ve ever seen or experienced. it is a feast for the senses. the locals could not have been more welcoming and are so thankful for all the visitors coming through their little villages following an incredibly tough (almost) year starting with fires ravaging their lives, followed by travel bans. now is the time to escape and help where we can!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Black Star was the perfect property for our friends getaway. Stunning design, great amenities, spacious, lovely location. It was relaxing but fun, peaceful but entertaining. We had everything we needed and more. Loved the alpacas, and seeing kangaroos on the property. Had fun in the pool, enjoyed the bathtub. We had a wonderful time.

Amazing Views!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Black Star Kangaroo Valley is a unique and truly beautiful property. The view of the home is spectacular as you pull through the large black gates. The fire is a huge centre point, making for a beautiful winter escape. The pool was divine, we were not able to use it though as it was a bit chilly. The only thing that needs some attention (or at least awareness when booking) is the doors, or lack of doors. One of the four listed rooms is actually just a loft, looking over the master room. Only really suited to children, but then not children too young as there are steep stairs accessing this room. Also this loft has no door at all and also in addition to being above the master bedroom also hovers near by the main living space so don't expect the people sleeping in loft room to be asleep before the rest of the house as all the noise travels straight up. The main bedroom only has a glass door which shuts with much difficulty, and the door on one of the other bedrooms doesn't shut at all. In all, there is only one bedroom that is quiet, and with a closing door. Aside from the door/noise situation the home was lovely, a true slice of paradise!

Stunning peaceful location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: View from the back of the house is gorgeous. Plenty of room the the kids to run around and explore. They particularly enjoyed feeding the alpacas on-site. The trampoline and firepit was also a nice touch. Newly built swimming pool looked inviting but not heated so was too cold to use. Interior was spacious and well furnished. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. However, we did find a lot of ?pet dander rolling around everywhere, also on the furniture. The black flooring didn't look like it hadn't been mopped for ages as our white socks were black after walking on it. Cobwebs were common thoughout the house. Dishwasher didn't clean the dishes properly despite reruns on heavy cycle. There's very little soundproofing of the house and each room was divided by sliding doors which provided no soundproofing or much privacy.

Amazing Place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Blackstar was amazing. Perfect for a family weekend away. Love the front lawn, perfect length for a Sand Wedge and loved the fully stocked timber store.A couple of things to plan for: bring extra dishwashing tablets, bin liners and paper towel. The starter pack didn't stretch to a long weekend of food, wine and festivities.The other thing, we didn't realise was that one of the bedrooms (the mezzanine) is open to the master bedroom. Not an issue to us as my 80 year old parents were probably not going to get up to any mischief anyway, but worth noting when you are working out who has what rooms. When we go back with friends, we'll probably consider it a 3 bedroom place and leave the kids at home. Highly recommend this place. Enjoyed it and had loads of fun.
