Nice, updated, conveniently located
This is an appealing property with a modern feel. It’s an older house and while it does have low ceilings (only a slight issue for me in the stairway as I’m 6’2”), it has significant modern updates and a lot of charm. Overall the property is also very clean.
The property is picturesque with a nice brook running behind the house, into a small river in front of the house.
The property is conveniently located for skiing/snowboarding with proximity to Jay Peak, Smugglers Notch and Stowe. It sounds like this is true for other outdoor activities as well, but I was only focused on snowboarding. It’s somewhat isolated, which I like, but it’s not far from a couple country stores and Jeffersonville if you want to grab a bite to eat or hit up a tavern or pub.
Make sure you read the property description thoroughly. The owner is very clear about all aspects of the property on this page and in their communications with you, but Vrbo doesn’t do a great job with the way their platform displays bathrooms. I was expecting 2 or 2.5 bathrooms, but this property has 1.5. It wasn’t a big deal for my short stay, but it would have been frustrating if I’d been at the property for a few more nights (I stayed there with two other friends). Again, this is my own fault for skimming through the owners description of the property.
This is a great property and I will certainly consider staying here again if I find myself looking for another multi-day trip in the area.
