The room was clean and comfortable. The self check in was simple. No television in the room which we didn’t realize. My only complaint is the bar located in the same building. Could hear the music quite loudly on the weekend in our room. I had to wear ear plugs and was able to sleep. I would stay here again but only with ear plugs.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Self serve check in was easy and convenient. Luggage storage was useful as check in wasn’t until 3:00. Lockers would be a nice addition, since all guests have access to the luggage room.

One of the best value hotels I’ve stayed in in Scandinavia. Very clean, easy check in/out, spacious room with actual room to walk around your bed and have open suitcases, and most importantly rooms where you don’t hear everyone else around you. Exactly how it should be.

Overall great hotel experience

Very easy to check in and check out. Very clean and beds were perfectly comfy. Minor complaint - the hand soap dispenser was empty of soap and it took a little longer than expected to get hot water in the tap.

A pleasant stay

Location is excellent, very clean. Easy to check in and out on your own (just remember, check in/out code is not the booking code from Hotels.com, the hotel itself will email you a code in the morning on the day you check in. Also, there were only 2 pillows for 2 people (queen size bed )

I booked 2 family rooms with 7 adults. The pictures showed full beds while booking but we got bunk beds which were very comfortable. You need to have right pictures and details so that nooking can be done accordingly. This is kind of cheating.

I didn't notice it was a minimalist hotel when I booked. No staff, no kettle in the room! However the check in was fine, the room clean and comfortable. I would have liked a kettle and a glass or cup but I survived! It is very convenient for the centre and close to the station.

This recently and thoughtfully remodeled hotel as clean, neat and efficient rooms that provide everything you need and nothing you don’t. The automated check in is easy to understand once you have obtained a “reference code” which was not included with my Expedia booking info but can be obtained my messaging the hotel through Expedia. The location is in a quaint neighborhood near restaurants and the Bryggan area. It’s also a short walk to the funicular, which takes you to the top of the mountain where there’s a wonderful view, excellent restaurant, hiking trails, and much more.

No front desk or staff on site. The kiosk worked to get a key for room. Only 1 elevator that does not go to 5th floor, and it was not working on checkout day. Location is great, with less than 5 minute walk to central train station and waterfront.

Great, no frills hotel… if no problems arise

I’ll start by saying it’s a lovely clean hotel just off the main part of Sentrum. There is only a machine for check in, no staff usually. There is a coffee machine you can buy from and a cold drink machine in the lobby however the cold drinks machine was out of order. There is no fridge in the rooms. When we arrived there was one staff member as we had previously emailed about a two night stay turning into a three night stay. She was extremely helpful in fixing our booking and giving us keys to cover the whole stay. However when the keys stopped working on the the final night (7pm Sunday) it was extremely hard to contact anyone. You need a Norwegian phone number to contact the staff - after a short time panicking, we were able to flag someone to call the staff. They did send us another code to receive new keys once we were able to get in touch. So it all worked out in the end, however these problems wouldn’t have even registered if there had been someone on the property able to help. If you have a Norwegian number you should be fine. Be prepared to be up until 3am as the pub downstairs goes off every night. Or bring ear plugs :)

The lobby consists of a single check-in kiosk, elevator and a vending machine. No staff to be found. The room had no TV, which i have never seen in my 20+ years of international travel. Room was clean and hotel was in a good location. I would have happily paid more for a real hotel had i known these things ahead of time. I hope this helps the next person...
