"With all the great reviews, I was expecting it to be immaculate and well maintained. That was not my experience. It was very comfortable and relatively clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Full disclosure, my opinion could be slightly skewed because, for some reason, I thought the place was much closer to Effingham - but it was 45 minutes away adding an extra hour and a half to my trip. But that is NOT the hotel’s fault - I just didn’t check all the details closely enough on Expedia. But still, it was a solid 4."

"So the room was clean & maintained. The bed was comfy too. But the availability of the front desk was very sketchy! Nic lady but I asked for towels for our second day, talked right to her! We never got them. Then no housekeeper at all, we needed a garbage bag and more coffee . Left a message that we were leaving the key at 845, We didn’t hear from her until 1:45 , we were already home!! Prolly will stay in Arcola next time!!"

"Me and my husband have traveled to Shelbyville IN from NWI at least 4 times already this year with several more trips planned this year. All but 1 of those times was spent at Spillway. And one we spent one night elsewhere and moved the second night to Spillway. Spillway is not your fancy hotel. If you want that, look elsewhere. What Spillway is is a family business that provides a comfortable place to stay while not fishing our butt off in the local waterways. I have never had any issues here and everything is always working and clean. No complaints here and when my husband says he wants to go fishing, I always say, “let me see what Spillway has available.” 10 star review if I could! Will always stay here as long as Spillway exists."

"The Host was quick to answer my questions . The house was beautiful and clean with lots of space for everyone . The kitchen has everything you could need to cook a meal big or small. Baby stuff was on point high chair playpen kids dishes and cups . The lake is absolutely beautiful across from us was a momma and her baby bald eagles. They were so fun to watch. The paddle board and kayak was fun. Fishing with the kids was great. Great place would love to go again."
