Serenity Mountain
This is our third time staying in your wonderful cabin!! We love staying there because it is peaceful, quiet, clean and offers all the amenities of home. It is also breathtakingly beautiful where the cabin is and there are many amazing places to walk!

Secluded, as we like it.
The cabin is modern, clean, well stocked. We experienced no issues. The two mile dirt/rock road in is what we were looking for - silence and seclusion. Nearby hiking was abundant. Grocery in Nederland has everything you need as does Ace Hardware. We give this and the owners 5 stars!

Wonderful Winter Vacation Getaway!
This review is long overdue! Our family stayed in this awesome cabin in mid-January. The owners kept everything well plowed and access was good. Pretty much anything you could need is on-site (except food - LOL) and the nearby town of Nederland is quaint and pretty well has all you could want, if you don't want to take the drive to Boulder. Eldora Ski Resort is less than half an hour away. We had an issue with the internet and one of the owners came out right away to remedy it. Did I mention how comfortable the beds are? :) Combine that with the peace and quiet and you can have a very restful stay. We highly recommend Moon Creek Cabin and it's owners!

Secluded gem on Jumbo Mountain
We very much look forward to when we can return. Big skies with lots of stars on clear nights. Mostly quiet with only the occasional 4 wheeler venturing up the mountain during the daytime. Comfortable open living plan. Windows allow for great breezes. Be careful to ensure freezer door is closed. And the couch is on the soft side. But odds are you’ll be spending your time on the deck or in the hammock by the creek. Great access to all sorts of hiking options and a grocery store and restaurants not too far in Nederland.

We were very impressed with the beautiful cabin and all the amenities it offered! Outside was breathtaking beauty everywhere you looked. Quiet and peaceful with so many places to explore and walk. Truly the best vacation my sister and I have ever been on! We highly recommend this amazing place!

Beautiful Cabin
My husband, myself and our two dogs stayed at this cabin during spring break. It was snowing the day we arrived and it the scenery was breathtaking. Jeff did come up a couple of times during our stay to plow the snow, which was very helpful since the snow does pile up. Our one, and only, inconvenience is the trash situation. The instructions in the cabin asked that we call them and they would pick it up, but we did not want to bother Jeff, so it added up during our stay. Maybe if we could lock it up in a bin outside so the bears wouldn't get to it? Overall we enjoyed our stay!

Best Stay Ever

Beautiful Spot to relax
My husband and I came up from Florida & stayed 5 nights. The cabin is in the perfect location between all the spots we wanted to hit. The road can be a little scary for Florida drivers and trust them when they say you need AWD. Our subaru rental did great to get through the snow. Again, Florida drivers here. We loved our stay!!

Very remote and peaceful few days! Will definitely be coming back!
We absolutely loved our short getaway to the cabin! It had all the amenities that we needed for a close-to-home getaway. I especially appreciated being able to bring the family dogs. Our favorite parts of the cabin were the privacy, the wood stove, and just having a relaxing few days to get away from town. I also loved all the windows to look out on the forest. It was nice to have that much privacy and natural beauty to enjoy. We had about 4-5 feet of snow on the ground when we stayed, so we are definitely planning to come back over the summer and enjoy the cabin without all the snow.

Peaceful Thanksgiving
My husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs, and I stayed at Moon Creek Cabin over Thanksgiving 2020. We had an amazing, peaceful, quiet vacation. The cabin had everything that we needed from all the kitchen necessities to clean towels/linens and lots of pre-cut firewood. One of the chairs in the living room is a bit beat up, but it didn't affect our stay. The Netflix signal was a bit unreliable...but I think that's what you get when you're wanting peace and quiet in nature. When the owners say you need AWD or 4 Wheel Drive in the winter months......they are not kidding. This cabin is all the way at the end of an uphill dirt road and when we went, 3-5 inches of snow had fallen before we arrived. Our Explorer had zero issues. However, my daughter's Forte was on the struggle bus .....it made it about .2 miles from the cabin and then we had to get creative. We did make it up, but her car stayed put until we left to head back to Kansas. Nederland and Black Hawk/Central City are very close and have a lot of places to visit even during COVID. We shopped in Nederland and ate at Busey Brews (delish!). And we visited a couple casinos in Black Hawk to pass some time one day. Lastly, Rhea and her husband went OUT OF THEIR WAY to help us. We left to head back to KC and about 2.5 hours from the cabin, we noticed my laptop bag (with my work laptop!) had been left. I called Rhea and told her husband about the situation. They went out to the cabin, got the laptop bag, and left it at her work in Nederland. This saved us at least an hour in backtracking to the cabin. I couldn't have been more grateful to their kindness during that stressful event. We would definitely stay here again and we recommend this to anyone who wants peace and solitude up in the mountains!!

End of Summer Trip
Great property, off the beaten path but provides everything you would need - we loved grilling on the deck and making s'mores from the fireplace after coming back from hiking all day with our dogs - we loved being close to Nederland too! Great town - great people & pizza!

Winter Retreat
Really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! It was very much what we were looking for with regard to amenities. The owners, Jeff and Rea were great to work with as well. While staying there we took day trips to Estes Park, Boulder and Fraser. Location was central to al of these.

Absolutely Stunning
I don’t even know where to start with this review but I’ll give it a shot. This cabin was absolutely wonderful as others have mentioned. The bed was so amazingly comfortable and the cabin was stocked with everything you need for a wonderful relaxing time. The creek provides awesome stress relief and can be enjoyed in the glorious hammock. Hiking in the area (i.e. right outside your front door) provides glorious views and wonderful sights. Jeff and Rea were great hosts and have done an amazing job opening their property to the public and it is greatly appreciated.

Summertime Serenity
The moon creek cabin was a magically serene setting for a retreat with my family for a 6-day extended weekend early in August. The cabin was gorgeous, with enough space for everyone including our 2 small children despite its only having 2 bedrooms (we used a blowup bed for our 2-year old). Everyone would spend the mornings enjoying coffee outside on the deck, laying in the hammock, watching the bees in the flowers which enveloped the cabin at this time of year and exploring the area. The cold creek was a perfect spot to sooth your tired blistered feet after a long day or night on your feet. The cabin is equipped with essentials - everything you need but not much more. Don’t expect 5-star luxury accommodations, this is a very nice cabin on a mountainside. The area is very remote and definitely high altitude. I can imagine it would be really adventurous getting in and out of there during winter. But If you’re seeking a quiet retreat from the city you won’t be disappointed. My only complaint was the Vrbo app and access instructions. The instructions had been provided right after we booked (by the owner I believe). I wasn’t able to locate the email, and when it was time to check in, the access instructions were never available in the Vrbo app. I had to login to the HomeAway website to get the instructions I needed. Jeff took time to respond to an inquiry of mine about this even while he was out of town on a trip, I would give him 6 stars if that was a thing. Cheers to Jeff and Rea for making this place available to us. I would love to return again in the future.

The cabin is close enough to town to be convenient but secluded. The road leading to it is dirt and steep at times but drivable. Not sure about the winter though. Perfect place to relax.

Awesome Stay!!!
We actually live in these beautiful mountains!! We had quite a few relatives come for our daughter's graduation and didn't have enough room in our home to host everyone. So we rented this awesome place for a couple of the grandparents. This home is simply perfect! It was super clean, set up so well, and fit our needs perfectly! We would give it more than 5 stars if that was possible. If you are looking to stay in the area, this is the top choice without a doubt!!!

Enchanting mountain getaway
Who would know that such a magical escape is atop a mountain just minutes from Nederland? We loved it from the minute we arrived ... the cook's kitchen, the wood stove with the exquisite stonework, the windows opening on mountain views, the deck overlooking the creek ... Moon Creek Cabin is a haven -- we and our pets were so at home here. Thank you for everything -- we'll be back!
