Just a fantastic experience , simple check in , lovely room .
Kitchen was well stocked for a good continental breakfast .
Going back in time with all mid comes
It’s an excellent location, an easy 10min walk into town. Beautiful old mountains home but very comfortable and clean. Great having breakfast options too. We’d definitely come back.
Typical historic B&B in a beautiful old building with period features. Great location within walking distance of Blackheath township and its shops and restaurants. The best was really comfortable, coupled with a quiet dark room for a good night's sleep. What was missing for me was space outside the room. There wasn't much outdoor common space and the inside common room was not much more than an entrance foyer.
We had a lovely stay midweek. The property is really old has lots of character. The room was a bit small but didnt bother us.All day biscuits cake coffee and tea.Supplies for breakfast available at all times.Short walk from the station.New bath house between the Ivanhoe and Gardiners pubs.Highly recommend.
Rowan Brae is an historic house with all the period features and furnishing with modern twists (USB power points, modern bathrooms etc.) We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing stay, and our host was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are tastefully furnished and the personal touches made the stay perfect. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens where visitors can relax or make use of the croquet provided. Breakfast is provided on a self-serve basis. There was an incredible feast available from cereals, toast and juices to eggs and ham and cheese muffins. Plenty of extras such as cakes, Danishes, fruit and a range of teas and coffees. The rooms on the front face the Great Western Highway so there is some traffic noise during busy times. However, the house is completely screened from the road by beautiful trees and hedgerows. Easy walking to restaurants and cafes and a short drive to amazing views of the Megalong and Grose Valleys. Definitely recommended for a mini break.
Place was full of character with complimentary food, John kindly let us leave our luggage there while we went hiking after checkout and before our train back to Sydney. Room was spotless with fresh flowers when we arrived.
Clean comfortable room. Excellent bed. Nice garden view with lovely pink rhododendron in flower. Breakfast was help yourself and adequate for my needs.
Beautiful and so easy to walk to the main shops and train station. The communal lounge area with snacks, tea, coffee and breakfast was excellent

Loved the older style of the rooms, extremely comfortable. Help yourself to afternoon tea and breakfast was very convenient with ample choices. A definite choice for return visits.
What a gorgeous place to stay, lovely gardens, rooms and great location. A bit noisy traffic wise and would recommend numbering parking as we went out and came back and there were no spots left- we had to squeeze into a space.
This is a wonderful place to stay in Blackheath. It's an easy walknto the tiwn centre. Lovely continental breakfast items as well as great cakes for afternoon tea.
