Family Visit

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here. The house is quiet, close to our son, just the right size for us. It is always easy to get ahold of our host and he responds quickly.

Met our needs for our week in Bloomington

Our friends and I needed a place to stay while working on a volunteer construction project. The place worked well for our needs. We appreciated easy communication with the host in answering questions about extra towels etc. Also respected our request for no scents to be used in cleaning and no air fresheners.

In close proximity to everything we needed. Clean, quiet, safe, & comfortable. Easy to check in & out. Could use better posting of house number to make it easier to locate during late, after dark arrival, but otherwise, was just what we needed.

Second Time Still a Charm

This is our 2nd time staying here. It is close to our son who goes to IWU. It is always clean, nice and quiet. Perfect for the two of us. Our host is very responsive and easy to reach. Thank you again for a wonderful home away from home. See you again!

Great place to stay; great communication

We enjoyed our stay in Bloomington and we’re glad we chose this property! Matthew was very transparent with us (requested an early check-in) and was great with communication before and throughout our stay. The rooms were spotless and we were provided with everything you’d need from a vacation rental. We were very pleased with our stay.

Quiet Area

Ours was a quick overnight trip for a concert. Area was quiet, close to the concert venue, and safe to walk back to late at night. House was very clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

Excellent stay!!

Property was nicely appointed and had late model appliances. Man cave in basement was perfect for my 14 yr old son to chill out. Centrally located for all the baseball fields we had to go to over 4 days. Don't recommend for people that have issues with stairs. Would stay again if in the area.

Clean & well maintained - great alternative to hotel stay!

I travel to Bloomington once a month for work and stay between 3-4 days. Staying in a hotel room can be tiresome. This is a great alternative that is priced right.

Nice duplex with garage

We enjoyed staying in the duplex with the garage. It was comfortable, quiet and clean, and did have everything we needed. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit Bloomington. So, so much better than a hotel. Thank you, Matthew!

Nice place!

This little duplex is a cozy place to stay, with everything you need! There was a pack n play in an upstairs closet, which we used for our one year old. The kitchen also had an assortment of spices, cookware, etc. The neighborhood was quiet, and the constitution trail was just across the street, which boasts a nice paved trail.

Good Communication

Good communication and promptly available. The 'good' or 4 not 5 rating, was for needed fixes upon our arrival. All items were taken care as soon as we let Matthew know. Extra space on lower level was a nice bonus. Trail was a great morning walk.

Girls get away!

My sister and I were in Bloomington for our daughters dance camp. It was our first time visiting the area. If you like boutiques go to up town Bloomington. Our accommodation were as described. The bed(s) were comfortable. We utilized the trail daily. It’s worth exploring♥️. The location was intimidating at first BUT a local informed us that it is an “up coming” area. It was quite. I would utilize garage at night. During the day it’s safe to park on the street. I would stay here again!

Thanksgiving in Bloomington

This property was perfect for us. It should be noted however that the steps to the upstairs bedroom and downstairs family room are fairly steep. My 91 year old father is extremely fit and agile for his age (rides 10 mile outside on a bike daily, works out at the YMCA etc) was able to negotiate the steps by going down backwards. Other guests might have even more difficulty with them. They were fine for my husband and I, however we also exercise daily and have good balance. Otherwise, the kitchen was well appointed and every appliance was very clean and in working order. We would stay there again.

Nice place but location is sketchy

We had great communication with Matthew until we arrived. He sent most things via email/text directly to me instead of going thru the VRBO app which is a requirement for VRBO. On Monday, I asked for the back porch light to be fixed so we could see coming into the property and asked for the front door key code to be fixed so it worked. Over the next few days I received a text saying, "why are you using the front door" and no response. Finally on Thursday night the issues were fixed. The unit was had all the sheets/towels, etc that you would need The beds were nice. The kitchen was the most basic stocked of any VRBO we have ever stayed at. Limited pans to cook with. We were there for a week to work and help our son move in. The location served its purpose but wasn't a 5 star.
