Family Vacation

The house was well equipped for our family vacation. There were games, comfy beds, and we enjoyed the screen porch to extend our outdoor time. We were able to easily get to the gardens, Boothbay Harbor, and Hendricks Head Beach within relatively short drives. Being able to bring our dogs was a plus! Would recommend, and will visit again if we make another trip to Boothbay.

The home worked out perfect for our extended family and our 2 dogs. Each had their own living space and plenty of areas to hang out. The teenagers in the group liked the pool table, ping pong table and their separate space downstairs. The location was nice and convenient to Booth Bay. It was nice that there was an extra large dog crate if needed in a quiet alcove (we did not use). The only complain I have is the backyard which in completely fenced in was not mowed. I would recommend staying there, very little traffic and nicely decorated.

The home itself is lovely and it was the perfect layout for our family. We were able to unwind and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor space, watching butterflies and hummingbirds from the front porch. The location is unbeatable, so private, yet close to the botanical gardens, aquarium and downtown Boothbay Harbor.One minor thing, and we were traveling with our dog, and we so appreciated being able to include him in our vacation. That said, with the property being dog friendly, it comes with some less desirable factors, i.e. the master bedroom had a strong wet dog odor. We weren't too bothered by it, as I said we're dog people, just thought I'd mention it for folks with an allergy/disinterest in sleeping in a room with a wet dog odor.

Perfect location

My son and daughter in law got married at the Boothbay Playhouse. So, the location for my family to stay together was perfect! We even took a few days extra to sight see. It's close to the Botanical gardens, the aquarium, walking and site seeing. It was a wonderful wedding weekend!

Boothbay Retreat

This house was great for our annual family trip of 5 people. Beds were comfy and there’s a really large shower in the master bathroom. There is practically a whole other house downstairs which would be perfect for kids. Kitchen had everything we needed. Overall a great stay.

Great house in beautiful setting

This is our 2nd year renting this property. We love the wooded location, the artistic home decor, and the size of the house. A few things need attention, such as the peeling paint on the deck furniture, the rugs, and some minor plumbing issues, but overall, the house is well cared for and extremely comfortable. Very happy with Vacasa as the rental and management agent.

Family retreat in Boothbay

We had a wonderful time at this home. The bedroom situation was perfect for us - owners suite, two bedrooms next to each of for the family with young kids and a downstairs bedroom for a single with a dog. There was so much room to spread out for different activities. Private location with Knickerbocker Lake access with a dock. We stayed during a heat wave and we were very comfortable. The screened porch was a favorite place for the adults. Everyone wants to go back again next year.

Great size and Location-only minor issues

The house was fantastic! The space inside was perfect for our party of 9. It was only 7 minutes to downtown. The only concerns we had were minor. The outside landscaping was overgrown yet they came and mowed the day after we texted. The dogs were much happier when they could see the yard! Another warning is there is no access to the backyard from the upstairs deck. This made it hard to let the dogs out. Be warned that the water pressure in the showers made it had to wash long hair, so be prepared! In addition be prepared that the screened in porch is not securely screened in and mosquitoes can get in, so bring a zapper or spray. Lastly, the wifi with 5 teens and 4 adults was not strong enough to handle all the phones. Overall, we loved the size, location and the cleanliness and would recommend it despite minor issues listed above.

Spacious and lovely!

We came up for Gardens Aglow at the botanical garden-conveniently right across the street! Spent some time in beautiful Boothbay and lucky enough to catch the lit up firetuck holiday parade! The home is beautifully decorated-with so many areas to spread out. We loved playing ping pong, pool, playing games in the dining room, having morning coffee by the fireplace, and just enjoying the warmth of this beautiful property. We will definitely be back in the warmer weather to enjoy the deck, gardens and porch!

Blissful in Boothbay

Nice house in quiet location. Great kitchen!! Master bed was comfy except sheets should be replaced. The house is large with a huge finished basement. The TV in the basement was OK. The basement sofa is comfy but the primary sofa upstairs was uncomfortable. All in all... a very good property that could be great with better bed sheets and living room sofa.

Outstanding Getaway House!!

We had a great time with our adult kids. The layout of the house gave us plenty of room and bathrooms. The beds were comfotable. We loved the kitchen family room with a gas fireplace and area to connect and hang out while eating and playing cards. The game room was a perfect place to gather and play pool, foosball and ping pong. Loved the outside, we had a fire one night, it was great to gather and look at the stars on a crisp cold night. We found hiking trails close by. Unfotunately, Boothbay shops were closed forthe week as they are getting ready for Christmas. I guess we will nerd to head back!

Girls Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been getting away for a girls weekend for over twenty years. This was one of our favorite homes. The home was clean, beautifully decorated and had a great layout. We loved having breakfast on the deck as well as a glass of wine in the afternoon. The dining and living areas were comfortable for chatting and playing games. The bedrooms were comfortable and plenty of room for the 6 of us. We would love to come back and definitely recommend this home.

House is NOT on the lake

House was very nice and comfortable for our group of 6 adults. We enjoyed having our pet join us for the stay. House layout was awesome; house was very clean and well kept. My draw to the property was the on line description of "woodland hideaway on the lake". This was a stretch to say the least. It was a walk to the lake and NO lake/water view. The other thing to note was that we were not able to enjoy the firepit. The ticks in the yard were incredible. Overall....a very nice weekend. Management group was terrific and highly responsive.

Comfortable luxury - every need well met!

A lovely Boothbay Harbor treasure - minutes away from Botanical Gardens and several lovely dog-friendly hiking trails. The house was spacious, comfortable, with several excellent spaces for whole family gatherings. We were 2 families spread across 2 homes. This home offered a fabulous game room with pool table, foosball, large tv and ping pong not to mention puzzles, board games, and younger children's toys galore. The kitchen/living room offered an open layout so the family cook(s) could converse comfortably with the others while prepping meals. Kitchen had everything we needed including a small mixer for the last minute cake pop extravaganza. Comfortable couches for lounging. Reliable appliances including dishwasher and the washer and dryer. A/C worked fabulously although after the 1st day we had no need because with lower temperatures the ceiling fans were more than sufficient to keep us cool. We loved being far enough away from a well traveled road that we could be outside with our dogs without having to worry about cars. The fenced in back yard was a bonus. Water pressure was great where it mattered most - the showers! Bedrooms were spacious and well-equipped. All 3 bathrooms were roomy with either shower or tub or both.

Beautiful home

The house itself and location were beautiful and perfect for our group of 7 adults! The open kitchen and screen porch were our favorite spots, with gorgeous views of the changing fall leaves. It was a quick drive downtown where we spent most of the day and we had a lovely walk around the quiet back roads.
