"The convenience of the tents and cots already being up and ready-to-go is great however, inside the tent was dirty. The concrete floor hadn’t been swept, the walls of the tent were dirty with accumulated dirt, dust, and hair. The bed had mouse droppings on it when we arrived. We get we were camping but when paying for a ready-to-go tent, we did expect it to be clean. The site was adequate and came with a fire pit and picnic table. The restrooms were close by but they too need some attention. The women’s restroom had a lot of spiders, mostly daddy long legs but also a wolf spider. I went in and knocked down all the spider webs as they were surrounding the toilets but they were back within a couple hours. The sinks were covered in dirty underwear and trash people left behind. It did eventually get cleaned the next day. There is a separate outhouse with a flushable toilet that was much cleaner. The staff were nice at the general store and restaurant. Fuel prices were the most reasonable in Death Valley. The general store offers ice and firewood. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes."
"When I returned to the room, I opened the door, my wife asked to take off my shoes. As I walked in, the floor was wet. I then got a roll of toilet paper, unrolled on floor and walked on it to see the extent of the wet floor. It was very wet. I assume there had been a water leak from the utility room next door.
Took pictures and returned to the front desk, we couldn’t stay in a wet, mildew room.
The front desk immediately moved us to room #73, two doors down. We moved our unpacked suitcases and belongings to the new room.
The ceiling fan was wobbling, leaving the observer the concern it could fall from the ceiling anytime.
As we were finishing our move, we were becoming concerned that the sound of two small barking dogs was from the next-door room #74. I went next door to speak to the the occupants. There was a “Please do not disturb” sign on the door. I knocked, no answer. I recorded a video of the barking dogs.
Another walk to the front desk. I said nothing, just played the video showing the room number and note on the door. The desk clerk had a strange look on his face; he replied that room is not in service and cannot have an occupant. He called maintenance to confirm.
We were again moved to another room. The new room #4910 was on the opposite side of the hotel and had two queen beds, our original room was a king bed. About three hour had elapsed since returning from dinner."
"It was a tiny house as advertised, but the use of space was clever and surprisingly comfortable. It’s definitely best suited for up to four people. The instructions for check‑in, WiFi, and the surrounding area were clear and very helpful. We also loved watching the night sky with no city lights around. Everyone slept well, and we truly appreciated the owner’s thoughtful hospitality. We even found marshmallow sticks by the fireplace, which was a fun surprise. Check‑out was just as easy and clearly explained."
