“The Fes medina is a sensory buffet of smells, beautiful craftwork, people and sounds. This homestay (Expedia should not really classify it as a hotel) was an authentic medina experience and made us feel like residents of the old town during our 3-night stay. The staff, which consisted of four teen boys, was very hospitable, walking us through the winding maze of alleys when we needed guiding. “We stayed here for one night and we really enjoyed our stay. We arrived at the hotel at around 9pm. It was raining heavily outside, so we were quite soaked. The hotel staffs were very warm, friendly and helpful when we arrived, handing us facial tissues to dry ourselves. Soumaya was fantastic with our endless requests and questions. And then Adil, Ibrahim, and Ayoub were charming/funny, professional, and hard working. After a long trip from Sahara desert, I was stunned by the serene vibe of this Riad and had a refreshing shower here. Anwar and Chantal (the owner) were incredibly kind and went above and beyond to help us when we were in a bit of a jam, which meant so much to us!! I can’t say enough about the warmth of the hospitality. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed, and breakfast each morning was excellent. “The riad was beautiful. We arrived in the afternoon and was first led into a reception area next to the courtyard, which gives us a wonderful view of the beautiful courtyard. We were then greeted with some mint tea and biscuits which were lovely. The staffs were all warm and friendly, and was very helpful with carrying our luggages upstairs.
