Known as the gateway to Lincolnshire’s wonderful countryside and waterways it is a haven for wildlife and offers excellent walking and cycling. The town plays host to a large market twice a week which has been established for more than 450 years. Outside of the market you can enjoy a network of medieval lanes with a good selection of independent and national shops surrounding an impressive 14th century church, one of the East of England’s most imposing landmarks. If it’s a clear day it is worth climbing to the top of the church to enjoy spectacular views out to the wash and Lincoln cathedral.
