20 foot waterfall and micro climate nestled in a private ancient valley. Wake to the sounds of Whispering Falls from every room of the house. The 40 long foot vaulted outdoor upper level deck gives one the feelings of being in the trees while looking down upon the Falls . Below the falls is a green carpet of moss that leads you to a springhead and a Zen sitting area. Up the hill is a Four Acres Meadow and surrounded by forest and apple trees give you room to play football or croquet. Come see what the cool crisp air is like 3,050 feet above the global warming seas and the chaos of the world along the 35th Parallel. Only 10 minutes from DuPont State Forest and Historic Downtown Brevard as well as 15 to Pisgah National Forest, 55 minutes to Greenville and 50 minutes to the Biltmore House. With four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a Jacuzzi tub, gourmet kitchen, two wood burning stoves , home gym, satellite T.V., Apple TV, baby grand piano, record player and and an expansive library, vinyl and art collection you will not lack for anything. We love well behaved dogs and their owners, This is a home not a Marriott so we ask you to treat it as such. We embrace the golden rule and ask that you do the same. We are unable to accommodate any type of snow plow to the roads or driveway. This means that if there is an inclement storm in our area that could effect your reservation, it could be altered or refunded. Safety is the top priority during winter reservation months.

Bachelorette weekend

Stayed here for a Bachelorette weekend to celebrate my daughter! Location was perfect for shopping, dining and activities. House and grounds were everything we could have asked for. Beautiful waterfall and creek with plenty of sitting and relaxing

Fall Family Getaway

Beautiful place to stay...house and grounds are amazing. Oh and there's a waterfall!!!!! We all had a great time playing the grand piano, listening to great jazz records on the turntable while dining at the beautiful table, sitting on the lovely, covered porches and listening to the waterfall, enjoying warm fires by the waterfall, and watching the white squirrels scamper around underneath the bird feeder. Brevard is just a 15 minute drive down the road and the art galleries and other shops are a real treat. Make sure you visit the potteries on Pottery Road aka highway 276.

A piece of mossy, green heaven!

Truly the most beautiful property we have stayed at yet over the years. We have already discussed booking for two more occasions in the future. The pics on the Vrbo site are good, but nothing compares to seeing and listening to this gorgeous NOT SMALL waterfall in person, sitting with family and friends on the mossy banks and lawn while we talked and played games. If you play piano, you will also enjoy filling the home with the sounds of the music. Loved how big the stainless steel covered island was in the kitchen. Every day we found ourselves standing around the island, with plenty of room for the majority of the group, and making sandwiches and filling our plates buffet style at the island. The hot tub got used every day as well, so don’t forget your bathing suits. What a treat, and one night the Perseid's meteor shower was happening so we sat in the adirondacks chairs and in the hot tub and watched the celestial show. Wow! How beautiful! We all agreed this place is so special that we didn’t want to go back home! Thank you for sharing this special place with the rest of us!!!!

Beautiful and peaceful property!

We absolutely loved our stay at this home. The property is beautifully maintained and stocked with everything you need. The grounds are more beautiful and sprawling than imagined with a waterfall, creek, and swimming holes if you choose. The location is perfect, about 15 minutes from downtown 10 minutes from DuPont, and about 20 minutes to Pisgah National Forest. We define hope to return!

Fabulous mid-week stay

This is the second time I have stayed here and still find it one of the most tranquil and peaceful places I have ever stayed. The autumn time is fabulous, but I can imagine the spring/summer with the the rhododendron blooming is probably magical too! I hope I have the opportunity again!

We could not have been more pleased with the house. It felt like an isolated hideaway, quiet and relaxing, but close enough to groceries and restaurants. Somehow my 86 year old mother managed the steep steps to get down to the fire pit by the falls. She called it magical. One of our cars had very low clearance and couldn't make it over the last hump in the gravel driveway but the owner helped us make other arrangements for parking. Thanks for sharing your home.

The property is beyond amazing. So spacious and relaxing, with EVERYTHING you could possibly need. The decks were so relaxing. Morning coffee and evening tea sitting on the upper deck listening to the waterfalls was perfect. We roasted wieners and brats on the fire pit, as well as made S'mores. The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking to one of the many waterfalls! Lovely restaurants were close by as well. And my daughter saw, and videod, a white squirrel!

spectacular house and property

We felt so welcomed by the owner and the comfortable house! This worked out well for our group of 3 generations of family members from 3 states (all adults). The kitchen was more fully equipped than any we've ever rented and allowed us to cook Thanksgiving dinner as if we were at our own house. Multiple seating areas in the house, on the decks and by the creek and waterfall allowed small groups of people to chat. The location is private yet only about 15 minutes to either Brevard (for shopping and restaurants) or DuPont State Forest (for hiking and big waterfalls). Our 5-day stay was idyllic!

Wonderful experience, fees higher than many

Loved the waterfall! It was as big as I had hoped, not just a trickle. And the area down by the waterfall was great too. There were many chairs, so you could sit by the water and listen/watch. The house itself is nice too. There was nothing we wanted that we couldn't find. The kitchen is very large and has tons of utensils. There were only 4 of us, and we liked having 2 floors, each with a king bed in one room. My sister and her husband stayed downstairs and could enjoy the den down there if they didn't feel like hanging out all together in the upstairs den. My husband and I used the upstairs king room with ensuite, and it was very comfortable. One thing to note: there is a skylight in the room that can't be covered and lets in a good bit of light from the outside landscaping. The porches were much appreciated, as we could sit outside and listen to the waterfall and not get wet if it rained. We also loved the hot tub. It was huge! I loved the bird feeders too. I made more nectar for the hummingbird feeder in the front of the house and added a suet cake to the regular feeder in the back of the house. It attracted a bunch of carolina chicadees, tufted titmice, and a couple of cardinals and a hairy woodpecker. There was also a chipmunk on the hot tub side of the house that came to visit every once in a while. I noticed when I booked the property that the fees were higher than most I have ever booked or stayed in, but I decided to book it anyway because of the waterfall. I was surprised, though, when we noticed that even though the fees are high, and there's a separate cleaning fee, we were asked to strip the beds, put the sheets and towels in the wash and to empty the trash. I don't mind doing that, but the fees were higher than places where I had daily housekeeping and didn't need to do any of that. Just a data point to consider. We forgot our pillows when we left, and the property manager was great at getting them retrieved and sent to us. That was much appreciated. You'll surely enjoy your stay in Transylvania County, the land of waterfalls. There's even a really cool waterfall (Conestee Falls) right at the end of the road up to the house. You only have to walk maybe 100 yard on mostly even ground to get there. MANY other waterfalls are nearby or not too far. We went to Dupont Forest for several and toward Highlands and Cashiers for others. Went to sliding rock too. Enjoy!

Amazing mountain getaway with private creek

This was our second year staying here with our friends and all our kids and it was a great stay! We had one family stay downstairs and the other upstairs. Plenty of room with washer/dryers on both floors. The private creek in the back yard is probably the most amazing part of this house along with the sound of the water flowing. There is an open grassy hill on the other Side of the driveway where the kids would chase fireflies at night. The quaint little town of Brevard is only about 15mins away with lots of small shops and great restaurants. We can't say enough good things about this vacation rental. Cheers!
