Toilet paper holder brokenShower pressure very weak2nd bedroom cluttered with shelving and too many lites on at oncePatio nice but cluttered with unusable things and pots with dead or non existent plantsSorry, not really happy with it.”

“This was the perfect stay! Would definitely stay again sometime!”

“Just an overnight stay. On our way back home from northern New York. The place was nice. It is peaceful sitting on the deck. The check in process was a little tedious with various emails and downloads required. The Backstep is a little sketchy. Be careful walking in. Overall the place was nice”

“The host was fine. The property is rundown. The location is excellent.”

“In the hustle and bustle of the electrical contracting world, this place was a perfect retreat from the grind. The hot tub was amazing and the views were even better. The cabin was very comfortable and the AC worked very well and thank goodness it was 100 most of the week. Will be taking other adventures soon and you’ll be at the top of the list for communicating on future endeavors.!”

“I hate giving negative reviews, however.... Upon arrival, access was very easy. The owner/ property manager provided clear and concise information. The property was easy to access, but definitely use a 4 wheel vehicle. However, the online photos of the property are deceptive. The cabin is not as rural as one would think. The building has much more wear than depicted. The deck is high above the ground and the boards are warped with openings. It did not feel safe. The gutters had plants……

“We loved the quiet property. So relaxing and the train theme was great!!! While there was just the 2 of us, it would be a great place for a family, too!”

“Perfect location for exploring Winchester. Beautiful rooms. Clean and comfortable.”

“The pictures on the listing were not accurate in representing the state of the current state of the house. The fence in the back is wire with stakes and not a fence. One of the main reasons we selected the cabin and the deck was a mess. The place was clean except there was an old pair of previous visitors' underpants on the sofa. The neighborhood dogs got out of their fence and aggressively chased us down 3 times, and other dogs down the road would chase our car. The next-door neighbors' trash……

“This was a great place for our visit to Harpers Ferry. It was very spacious, secluded, and had all the amenities you would need. Highly recommend!”

“We had a lovely stay and it was so nice for our dog as well. The Mountain Lake Cub had a doggy beach day on Saturday morning and it was a super fun experience. The host was friendly and responsive!”

“I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but this was just a really, really bad stay. This cabin needs a major overhaul. Check in was at 4, while driving to the cabin we got a text from the host saying the cleaner was going to have to drop in for 20 mins max, to clean a “pet stain” unsure of arrivals time but they would be gone before 9. So we were off to a bad start, but I was still hopeful. Upon arriving to the cabin, we were met with a very pungent odor as soon as we opened the door, smelling……

“Absolutely charming cabin - clean, comfortable and with lovely amenities.”

“We had a great stay”

“The house has real potential, but also has real problems. It needs some maintenance in a major way. The toilet won’t flush. The faucet in the bathtub fell off. The grill had not been cleaned in so long that it broke out into a fire. When communicated these problems with the host, the response was I’m sorry for the inconvenience. We will have our handyman fix it after you leave. Frankly, I wanted it fixed while we were there. They also did not provide the necessary materials for cleaning dishes.……

“This cabin exceeded my expectations! If I had known how tranquil and beautiful the surroundings were we would have stayed a whole week! My husband and two 17 year old boys enjoyed the place. We were able to swim and fish in the lake. It was so nice to sit outside with the rustling of the leaves, sound of the cicadas and birds. The sauna and hot tub were nice. Beds were comfy and water pressure for bathing was great. The interior design and the layout of the living/dining room and kitchen was……
