'Hamilton', a stylish renovated house in Hanseatic medieval centre

Hamilton, a delightful, stylish house situated within easy walking distance of the market place and the historical, gastronomic and cultural highlights of Bruges is located in amongst the canals of the 15th century Hanseatic area of the city.
The recent restoration - a successful marriage of the old and the new - created a peaceful environment, recommended for a two-to-four persons luxury holiday, or for a family with up to two children. With a little bit of luck, there is a parkingplace in front of the house, but a car is not necessary to enjoy Bruges and his surroundings.
Two bikes are provided for your enjoyment, and both walking and cycling in Bruges, and the surrounding areas is easy and fun. The seaside is easily accessible by road or train, or by bike for those with a little more stamina. You have the entire house at your exclusive disposal. Away from home, but at home. All in, you have only to bring with you your tea bags and slippers. Further information and pictures available on our website. Address of the property ; 8000 Bruges, Krom Genthof number 9.

Included: bed-, bath- and kitchen linen, water, heating, electricity, cleaning, taxes, internet connection, child's highchair or cot two bikes and free internet connection.
Kitchen :
Equipped with electric cooker, refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee machine, boiler.
The necessary kitchen utensils for 6 persons.

Further details about Bruges: Krom Genthof, 9 (name of the street) is situated on the city map of Bruges on F 7 (in the middle above).

Great house in excellent location

This house is very large and comfortable, on a quiet street just outside the bustle of the main areas of Bruges. The bedrooms are quiet, the bathroom clean, and the kitchen well-equipped. Very nice place to stay for a few days.

We had an amazing time in Brugges. The house was beautiful and very immaculate. We had everything we needed available to us in the home. The property owner was very responsive and we would absolutely stay here again.

A lovely house in a great location

We loved our time in Bruges. The house was clean and exactly as described. We didn’t get to meet Raphael in person but he was very responsive to any messages we sent him. The house is a short walk away from the main square but on a quiet side street which is very nice to come back to after a long day sightseeing. It’s also easy to get to via the free shuttle or regular buses. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Everything was great

Loved the location. Great communication. Free use of bikes. Nice washing machine for our dirty clothes. Clean. Lots of dishes for our breakfasts and tea. Best place so far this summer. (The stairs were steep up to the 3rd level for the kids - if they were younger I would have been concerned.)

My friend and I loved staying at Hamilton House for our big birthday weekend in Bruges. The house is a beautiful and relaxing environment, everything you might need is provided, and Raphael was easy to contact. The location is very good too; it's only about a 12 minute walk to the Grote Markt, and Jan Van Eyck Plein a few minutes walk away has some really nice cafes and restaurants (book for breakfast at weekends though - we struggled to get a table everywhere and didn't even get to the Blackbird Cafe because it was either fully booked or closed). Top tips: the no 2 bus to/ from the railway station stops at either end of the street (get the train to Oostende or Blankenberge and you can be at the seaside in half an hour), and the Carrefour Express supermarket around the corner is convenient (although it closes at 7pm and apparently fresh milk is not a thing in Bruges!). Recommendations: the old and atmospheric Vlissinghe pub just across the canal for its great food and cute dog; Bruges has lots of little hidden almshouses with gardens where you can sit and enjoy a moment of quiet; if you want to buy Belgian chocolate but don't want to spend a fortune on the fancy stuff, the Chocolaterie Jan De Clerck on Academiestraat is a nice little independent sweet shop. Finally, the Choco Story Museum does chocolate-making classes - and you can take home everything you make!

Picture Perfect

Location was perfect...one lane away from the main road so everything was peaceful and quiet. The owner is clearly a lover of antiques and it made us feel even more like we lived in this fairytale town rather than just visiting. This house is worth staying at just for the books kept there on Bruges. I waited until my last day to pick up two in particular that might have changed my whole visit if I had paid attention to them earlier in my trip. One book is dedicated to the excavation of De Burg and a second is the complete architecture of what must be almost every house in Bruges. I actually walked down the street with it to compare the current look of some neighboring buildings to the way they used to look a hundred years ago. That book could have been its own tour guide to the city and it is fascinating! Thank you so much for providing bicycles. We made a day trip to Damme and it was the highlight of our trip. There is not a more picturesque setting for a picnic than the apple orchard behind the cemetery at Our Lady Ascension Church. We were visiting from America and our host made check-in and check-out very easy and stopped by to introduce himself. We loved our stay and would stay here again without hesitation.

Lovely Property

Overall a great stay. The rooms were good size and had pretty much everything we needed. The location was excellent, quiet street but a short walk from the main part of town,.the grocery store.and a night shop . The bicycles were a very nice and appreciated addition. Using the code for entry made check in and out easy and means you didn't need to keep track of keys. Some observations (not criticisms): the stairs up to the bed and bathrooms are narrow and winding, they need some care in going up and down. The bed is quite soft (if that matters to someone) but we nevertheless found it quite comfortable. Fans were nice given the unusually hot weather. The washer/dryer took some effort to figure out; Google translate was helpful as the instructions were in French. But having a washer was great. While the bathroom was fine, there was no shampoo or other toiletries so be sure to bring your own. The kitchen is well equipped. TV was nice and worked well. As some others have mentioned, the host came by during the week- he messaged in advance. Not a usual thing in other rentals we have had but not a problem either. We would recommend this property and host!

Lovely townhome in the historic center of Bruge

This is a lovely, nicely appointed, and comfortable 3-story townhome in Bruge, close to all historic sites, on a cute little private street. The beds were comfortable. There were ample cooking supplies (pots pans, dishes), two bikes for us to use (very convenient), lots of towels and blankets, and easy access via a code on the front door. Raphael was great with communication ahead of time and checking in was a breeze. The home is filled with art books, historic books on Belgium and bruge, games, comfy throws on the sofa, etc. Everything was very thoughtfully and carefully set up for a family on vacation. We did have one issue worth noting though: Raphael (the owner?) stopped by when we were out and came inside the house twice unannounced. On the second visit, he entered all of the bedrooms and opened the windows. He did leave a note saying he had been there (after the second visit), but we felt he should have given notice ahead of time he would be coming over. We didn't understand the purpose of his visits and have never experienced this before with a vacation rental. We messaged him about this, and he did not reply. Other than this unusual incident for a rented house, everything was great with the stay.

Home away from home

Had a great time at Hamilton House. It was our home away from home. Close to everything, had what we needed and quiet. Raphael was super nice and helped us out when we first arrived. Wish I could have stayed longer, very nice and cozy

Great property. Well appointed - comfortable beds. Host very easy to communicate with and helpful. We were 4 friends travelling together, so beds were separated into 4 singles. Only 1 bathroom/toilet but worked well for us. Would recommend.

The Only Place To Stay In Town

My husband and I recently spent 7 wonderful days at Hamilton House. Set in a perfect location for exploring Bruges, it contained every modern convenience and was spotlessly clean and very well furnished. The two bicycles were definitely an added bonus and i would most certainly recommend a stay here. Raphael the owner was a great guy, charming and most helpful. We look forward to a return visit.

warm, comfortable house in excellent location

We really enjoyed our stay at Hamilton house over the new year. The house was extremely comfortable ,clean and cosy and in a brilliant location, very central for everything.Bruges was beautifully decorated for christmas and the New Years eve celebrations were wonderful (very family orientated).while we were there we visited Damme,Sluis, Ghent and De haan all of which we enjoyed and were great places to visit all year round. I would not hesitate to recommend this property , we had a great time.

We loved this house! Well designed. Perfect location!

We love this house in Brugge. We are a family of 4 and this apartment was perfect for us. We used the 2 bikes and they were in new condition. We slept well on the comfy beds. We used the kitchen for some meals. The place is very well designed and the decor is a perfect mix of modern and classic. I would stay here again.

Great location and wonderful host

This is a great location for exploring Bruges. It is tucked into a a quiet residential neighborhood away from the crowds. The house is nicely furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware and appliances. There are also quite a few books and maps about Bruges. The host stopped by to make sure everything was OK and gave us several restaurant recommendations. I would highly recommend staying here while visiting Bruges.

A little slice of Heaven in Brugges

What an amazing holiday we were able to enjoy! A highlight was definitely our stay at this home in Bruges. The owner was so kind and made sure that everything was secure with the heat. The location was fantastic and it was a very quiet street. I would love to return to Brugges and would stay again at Hamilton House for sure. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and sharing your beautiful home with us.

A fabulous find!

We loved this cute and very comfortable house, in a lovely part of Bruges. Very clean and well equipped with everything you could need. Only 5 mins walk from a supermarket (Carrefour) with a friendly corner shop across the square at the end of the road. Very comfortable sofas, reliable wifi and a lovely large bed. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect home in Brugge

What a wonderful home and location! The house was spotless and absolutely beautiful. The layout was perfect for my family of 5, with three kids sharing a large bedroom on the top floor and the master bedroom directly below. The living area was fantastic - a large living room, dining room and kitchen that all flowed together and made eating meals easy and fun. Everything we needed was provided. The location was perfect - only a 5 minute walk to the main square and less than 30 minutes to the train station. The house is on a side street so it is quiet and private. I highly recommend staying here!

Comfortable and clean

The property was perfect. The baby bed was already set up and ready to use. We appreciated that since we arrived late and put the baby right to bed. Everything was lovely and clean. We appreciated having a door code and not keys. This allowed two groups to come and go without coordinating keys. I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful Stay

Property was as listed or better. Location was within 5min walking distance to busy town center. House was very well equipped, clean, and bright. Raphael was very helpful to us suggesting a very scenic bike route to a cute town called Damne approx. 6 miles away along a tree lined canal built by Napolean. Bikes are included with the rental. We traveled for three weeks using VRBO as well as Hotels. This was our favorite place. Would highly recommend.
