Grovefield House Hotel By Uno -FREE PARKING
8/10 Good
"Originally, I was going to write a negative review about the Grovefield House Hotel. When I arrived, I was given a small room which was boiling hot and the tiny fan on the table didn't do anything to cool. Apparently, it's a listed building so they can't do anything regarding air conditioning. The shower in the room was a small cubicle, behind the door, that was difficult to move in and wasn't helped by the lack of water pressure and also didn't run cool on such a hot day. However, when I went to finally go to bed, I noticed a ceiling full of mosquito-like flies: I could not sleep there, I would be bitten like crazy through the night. Now, this is where things become positive. The lovely member of staff on the desk very quickly moved me to another room around the corner and apologised for the issue. This new room was much bigger and cooler and the fan was much better. The shower was above a bath and the pressure was acceptable - still no power shower, but did the job it needed to. In the morning, I had a lovely breakfast before finally going on my way. In conclusion, this has taught me to not buy the cheapest room if I stay there again, instead go for the king size bedroom which was much, much better. All-in-all, it was a nice enough hotel. Very scenic, but that does mean lots of night insects... don't leave your windows open."

The Ethorpe Hotel by Chef and Brewer Collection
10/10 Excellent
"An extremely comfortable stay and staff very helpful. However, when I discovered I had left a couple of items in my room it was difficult to make contact with hotel to discuss. Only virtual assistant response on phone and email not answered."

Horwood House Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Okay hotel. Hotel was clean, staff friendly. Grounds very disappointing and lack of air con in suites was a real struggle in the heat."

De Vere Latimer Estate
8/10 Good
"We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and well-appointed with great amenities. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were consistently helpful and attentive. The only drawback was the lack of air conditioning, which made the room quite warm; I would recommend checking if a room with air conditioning is available when booking. Additionally, while the shower pressure was usable, it could certainly be improved. Despite these minor issues, I would happily stay here again, particularly during cooler weather seasons"

Danesfield House Hotel And Spa
6/10 Okay
"Advertised as Family friendly so we booked an expensive 1 night stay. For myself my wife and my 4 year old daughter as it had a swimming pool. We were told when we arrived my daughter could only access the pool if she was 5. This was only hidden in the T&Cs and not flag until we arrived despite giving my daughters DOB. We were going to get a relatively early and restful night but the loud base and music until midnight put pay to that. Our room was facing the open door of the after venue and again this wasn’t flagged at all. When you pay £500+ for a one night stay you don’t expect this. Could have been a lovely stay but definitely tainted."

"Excellent location and amenities. Excellent breakfast and dinner"

Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross by IHG
4/10 Poor
"The hotel itself was ok - however when we arrived the corridor to our room was full of dirty plates and sheets etc., all just sat there on the floor from where they must have been clearing the room out. A very noisy hotel, lots of guests being loud late at night. The pool was fine, although very overcrowded with kids. The staff were awkward and most had quite a bit of difficulty understanding English. We had a disappointing experience where one staff member allowed someone to push in front of us in the reception queue, they didn’t even say anything. The restaurant was the worst, sadly - had to order drinks 4 times and they still didn’t come… my partner ended up having to walk to the bar with the waiter because he didn’t understand what we were asking for. Ordered steak and wasn’t given a steak knife… asked for the bill and it never came.. had three different waiters come to our table while we were eating, all to ask our room number.. never offered us dessert menus.. and then a mandatory service charge was added to the bill, despite the appalling service."
