"It’s clear that this Fairmont thrives on its staff. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and helpful, and it made me feel valued as a guest. This is what brought the rating up to four stars. The amenities do leave some things to be desired. Air conditioning would have been nice, but it’s an old building – and at least the windows open (albeit with no screen, so I couldn’t leave them open overnight, even when it was 23C in the room). Having a fridge in the room (by default, not by sending a mini fridge on a little trolley) would have been appreciated. Stains on the ironing board weren’t super comforting. The fancy shops in the lobby add to the ambience, but don’t really make the hotel “better”. But the bathroom was very nice, and the hangers were properly functional (not attached to the railing), so I could soak my clothes and then hang them to dry in the shower. The bed was comfortable and the room itself was, as always, beautiful, with old-world feel. The French toast at the hotel’s restaurant is delicious, both when dining at the restaurant and in-room breakfast. And as I said above, there was a generally nice ambience that made me feel a bit posh whenever I got “home” for the day. So would I stay here again? For the right price, sure. Other nearby hotels arguably have better value, dollar for dollar. But do I regret staying here? Not at all. The staff made sure I had as great an experience as they could provide. I felt valued as a guest and fully enjoyed my stay :)"

"This hotel was very nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and upgraded our room to floor 17 with a great view of the city. The only thing I wished for was that there were other dining options in the hotel. The Boulevard was beautiful and I’m sure had excellent food. However, very very pricey. Even for breakfast. We were aware ahead of time that this is a Michelin recommended restaurant. So the prices were not a surprise. Since this hotel is located in the middle of Vancouver, there are many walkable restaurants and bars close by. Overall it was a lovely stay."
