“The property itself is quite good—newly renovated facilities, a convenient location, and a nice free breakfast. It’s easy to see why it has a 9.0 rating and overall, it’s worth it.
However, I was assigned a room right next to the ice machine and emergency exit. I checked in late at night and didn’t realize the potential for noise. Unfortunately, the receptionist didn’t mention anything about it, even though I was traveling with kids.

“The stay was lovely!! We really enjoyed Valerie and Clair and they couldn’t have been nicer! Breakfast was delish too!
One suggestion: a full length mirror in the rooms? ”
“Dear Holiday Inn and IHG.
We came to stay for a week at your hotel at 515 Bypass Rd in Williamsburg VA. There is one very special person I need to talk about and her name is Beverly. What an amazing human being wow! When my Wife and I were looking at hotels in that area cause we were taking the kids to Busch Gardens. From the first moments talking to her we knew we were staying at your hotel. Our youngest Son is Non-verbal Autistic and has many challenges every day. When we came in to check-in……
“Clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and friendly staff. The only thing is that if you leave something on your bed, the housekeeper is not allowed by the local law to touch it.”
“It had a all-time colonial Williamsburg feel I felt very safe yet still in the middle of town, which was so nice to see. The facilities were also very nice.”
“The staff, especially Miss Judy was amazing. The breakfast was nice with many choices. The pool was nice. The area was very quiet. The queen beds were clean and comfortable. The room was laid out nice. The ac worked great. No complaints! ”
“The property is very large and offers many amenities, including spa and pools and golf. There are many restaurants in the different hotels that are part of the compound. The staff were very helpful and nice ”

Starting as early as 6 a.m., guests began walking around for breakfast, some trying to open the emergency exit—which triggered a loud alarm. The real issue started after 7 a.m, when the emergency exit began functioning as a regular door. Guests continuously came in and out, causing the door to slam shut every 2–3 minutes. The loud banging made it impossible to rest. It was truly exhausting and disrupted our rest completely.
Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the main reasons to stay at a nice hotel, and sadly, that didn’t happen here.
All in all, this property is ok—but if you're assigned room 126, 128, or any room near the emergency exit, request a room change to avoid a similar experience.
