Bear Cub Cabin Watauga Lake - Ski Season Is Here

Ski season is upon us. Enjoy three different ski resorts nearby as well as ice skating and snow tubing, snow much fun for the entire family. Bear Cub Cabin is located in a charming area that has wonderful views of mountains and lake to equal the perfect place for your next vacation! Same day booking is possible. Calendar will not show open, message the owner to check availability.

This property is lakefront with a private covered dock and an amazing fire pit area. The view is spectacular with Cherokee National Forest directly across from the lake. This cabin has 2 adjoining bedrooms, a loft, one bath, a covered porch, and a deck. The cabin includes a king-size bed, a queen-size bed, and two twin beds in the loft area. We are excited to announce that overlooking the lake, we have a brand-new tranquility aqua therapy 6-person hot tub with a lounger seat, led lighting, and Bluetooth. Cabin is spotless and well stocked for cooking and grilling. Full-size stainless-steel appliances, washer and dryer, granite countertops, wireless internet, heating/cooling, kitchen and grilling utensils, propane grill, and plenty of outdoor furniture including new fire pit chairs. Towels and linens are supplied. Snuggle up by the floor-to-ceiling gas log fireplace. Three flat-screen tv's with over 10,000 tv shows and movie options. Large patio area around the fire pit. Enjoy the view and bar area on the deck while grilling. New Vibe Kayak, Vibe Paddleboard, and Ascend Kayak, lifejackets, and a floating Rubber Duckie Mat for the water are available for guests to use. There are 60 stairs to get down to the dock. Head down to your own private dock to watch the perfect sunset. Ample parking space that is flat and level if pulling a boat or ATV trailer. You can rent a boat from one of the local marinas or bring your own boat and tie to the side of the dock during your stay. Two jet ski ramps are available for guests to use if bringing jet skis. New public boat ramp 5 minutes away. Types of fish found on Watauga Lake are: rainbow trout, small and largemouth bass, bluegill, catfish and more. Local grocery stores are 20 minutes away. Things to do nearby: Appalachian Ski Mountain, Beech Ski Resort, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, and Hawksnest Snow Tubing. Virginia Creeper Trail, Bristol Motor Speedway, Villa Nove Vineyards, Downtown King Street in Boone, Elk River Club for the golf enthusiasm and Doe Mountain Recreation Park. Doe Mountain Recreation Park offers more than 50 miles of trails for ATV, UTV, and hiking. The property was awesome and right on the lake. They have made awesome upgrades like adding the hotub and extendinf the patio outback for it. You have access to firewood for smores which is a major plus. My family and friends loved using the kayaks provided.

Beautiful and comfortable lakeside retreat

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The property is in a great location with gorgeous views and easy lake access. The house was clean, comfortable, and very cozy. The hot tub was fantastic and perfect for cold weather, although I would definitely recommend for summer as well. Our host was very communicative and offered great recommendations for where to go locally. I definitely plan to return and stay for longer!

Great time at the cabin!

We had an excellent time Bear Cub as a family of 4. I was so impressed with how CLEAN it was and I am so picky about that. It smelled truly clean and not a speck of dirt or dust. The grounds are maintained so it was easy to access and walk the dog. We had a blast on the lake and love the area. It is very rural so be prepared! The kids loved playing in the loft but did end up sleeping in the primary (room with a door that shut) and mom and dad got relegated to the smaller bed but still everyone slept well! We appreciated the s’mores kit there too because we assumed it would be too hot for a fire… it was just right for a quick smore party! Charity was great and easy to work with!

Amazing

This cabin was perfect for our family of 4. Even though my kids are a little older they loved staying in the loft. The cabin was very clean and the outdoor living spaces are wonderful! We enjoyed fishing, swimming, kayaking/paddle boarding and relaxing in the hot tub. The host communicated very well and checking in and out was very easy.

We loved staying at Bear Cub Cabin. Cabin was very clean and well stocked with everything you will need. Charity was a wonderful host and very responsive throughout our stay. Watauga lake is beautiful with surrounding mountains. We really enjoyed the 2 wineries within a couple of miles of the cabin. Both had stunning views and property grounds were amazing. We were so happy to visit this area and very happy with Bear Cub Cabin.

This is a beautiful property with gorgeous views and access to the lake. As quests there was excellent communication with the owners. The property was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook and spend a very relaxing few days. Definitely a 10/10❤️

The place was immaculate. The outdoors were beautiful. The steps to the lake are very steep and long. So if you’re an older person, you’re gonna have to take a couple of breaks coming back up.

Best location!

My family had a great stay the last week of July. The views from the house and fire pit are great. We cooked outside on the grill or fire pit almost everyday. Their dock is awesome and my kids had a blast jumping off of it 1000s of times a day. Great spot to swim and the sunsets down there are top notch!

We absolutely loved our stay at Bear Cub Cabin! We were in town to go to the Bristol race but after getting to this beautiful cozy cabin, we ditched the Friday night race. Everything was so nice and clean and there were lots of little touches to make our stay extra comfy and relaxed. We went fishing out of Fish Springs Marina, which was great. We loved the surrounding area (towns of Butler and Elizabethton), the people were super friendly. We enjoyed the slower pace an even the lack of cell service was nice at times. I highly recommend this cabin and the hosts!

Just beautiful

The view is amazing. The dock has wonderful chairs to sit on and is easy to use whether it’s bringing your own boat and docking or using the provided kayaks. Beds were comfortable and air-conditioning worked fantastic! We used the grill probably twice a day which was a great benefit. It was the perfect size for our family of three and Charity is very responsive and easy to work with. Looking forward to coming back

The best weekend getaway

My husband and I came here just for one night and it was the best one day getaway ever. We love to visit watauga lake and find that we always have to book a house that is way too big for us to get the amenities we want. 1000% book this place if you’re looking for a perfect property to swim in the lake, float, paddle board, and then grill out and have a fire. Also the bed was probably the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept on.

The Bear Cub Cabin was just PERFECT! Located in a quiet section of the lake, the cabin is tastefully furnished, very clean, and plenty of room. The host is very responsive, provided everything you need and even included all the fixings for S'mores at the fire pit. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Location

This property is so cute with the best view of the lake! Love the dock and enjoyed laying out in the lounge chairs and having the kayak and paddle board to use. The cabin is small but spent our time outside. Cabin very clean and welcoming! Host was amazing at communicating.
