「Lovely staff, decent hotel and in a great spot, but something between Expedia and the hotel went wrong and we had to check out of our room at 11 and into another at 3, even though we were only there for 2 nights. I agreed to this as it was too late to hunt down another hotel. Upon arrival, the staff were really lovely, but our room was made up as a double, when it should’ve been a twin. I was desperately tired after a seven hour drive and wanted to lay down, but couldn’t as they said the staff...
「This is in the most beautiful location and the staff are so helpful and the breakfast was amazing. You have parking facilitates and they gave us the most yummy flapjack on arrival. I lovely place to stay and feel comfortable with lovely residents.」
「Very quiet, cozy & comfortable Inn. Although located in a remote area of Lake District, easy to find & can reach other spots easily. Must try the dinner at the restaurant which is very good with reasonable price. Only the towel rack in my room is not working which is a minor stuff. Furthermore everything in the breakfast seems overcooked.」
「My wife and I had a fabulous 2 night stay. Our room was lovely, staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was first class. The bar was a lovely place to relax after a long day walking. We would definitely return for another visit. I have only one observation to feedback, and its minor. The decor in our bathroom was tired and needs looking at. The bathroom was clean and tidy, but paint work and fixtures were beginning to show their age.」

It was lovely to stay in a well maintained old property (16th century) with great character, with a welcoming open fire in the general sitting / dining area.
The bedroom window provided some lovely views of the fells.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Eggs were provided by the free roaming hens in the garden.」
