"Puro Dao is one of my best hotel and spa experiences. To start with the location; It is located in the outskirts of a charming village in the countryside. There is a station 2 minutes away so you don’t need a car to get there. Once you inside you fell relaxed and very welcome by the lovely staff. Everything is perfect from the different climate smart light to the materials and over to the furnitures and interior design. The Spa is amazing and so is the outdoor pool in the garden. The nature surrounding the village is great for hiking and there is different hiking trails. After the hike I recommend a treatment in the spa, I got a hot stone massage which was heaven. Finally, don’t miss the great local wines and food in the restaurant, or the breakfast. "

"Breakfast was pretty average and rooms very nice and clean. Staff was very quiet - could have been a bit more welcoming but we had limited interaction so not a huge deal."

"We had a fabulous time at Casa dos Chuchos. Antonio & Eva are great hosts offering local cultural insights and destinations of interest. They were also very responsive to any questions or problem we were facing. Their house is very comfortable with an abundance of character. If you enjoy ‘historical architecture’, Carregal do Viriato is the place to stay. The neighbourhood buildings, narrow streets & cobblestone roads transport you to the past.Thank you Antonio & Eva for a memorable week, and we highly recommend Casa dos Chuches to everyone."

"The staff was so very welcoming and nice. They were patient with us as we are learning Portuguese but out native language is English. They help us. The room was nice and worked for a quick overnight stay to see the fireworks last night. "
