  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

Very basic

Basic, food was okay on some days but very limited. Hotel room was still being cleaned when I was given my key to check in. Has to sit on chair waiting with baby. Some staff okay, others not the best. Close to beach and amenities, that's a good thing. Okay if you are not paying much to stay here

Needs improvement

The food was horrible, room had no air con and only 1 plug socket available that was in the bathroom! Sink was cracked and tiles broken in bathroom. The hotel was quiet yet still put us in a room with the worst view and a loud generator thing in front of the balcony. The daytime bar man was so miserable. The rest of the staff were pretty friendly and it was pretty clean but I still definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here.

Mauvaise expérience dans cet hôtel, piscine grande mais malentretenue , beaucoup de bruit et de cris des enfants. Chambre basique, salle de bain petite et malpropre et le plus mediocre c'est le manque de climatisation surtout en plein mois de juillet. Voisins bruyants et balcons petits. Les chambres qui donnent sur la piscine sont les plus touchées par le bruit et les cris des enfants. Je ne conseille pas du tout cet hôtel car mauvaise qualité prix.

Hay cosas que aparecen en vuestra app que en la realidad no corresponden a la verdad! Limpieza diaria no ha sido realizada. Ni una vez en toda la estancia! Salida a las 12,00 está escrito en la web de Expedia! No es verdad! He tenido problemas con la recepcionista que, cuando volví hoy de la playa a las 11,25 para darme una ducha y dejar la habitación dentro de las 12,00 me dijo que lo que estaba escrito en la app de Expedia no tenía ningún valor. Tenían valor las normas generales que decían que las habitaciones se dejan libres a las 10.00! Además no pude entrar porque la tarjeta electrónica estaba programada con ese horario de salida. Un lío increíble. Por suerte la recepciónista ha pensado bien de dejarme entrar y sacar mi ropa! Mal, ha sido una experiencia malísima también por vuestra culpa! Tenéis que escribir las condiciones en forma correcta!
