Property is nice and most of the staff were very friendly, but they were not staffed appropriately for start of the season. This impacted offerings and especially service.
As a result, some food offerings were limited to mediocre buffet food and took forever to get things. Poolside food was horrible- paid $12 for an order of fries which is fine, but literally received probably 15 small fries and the chicken in quesadilla was inedible after 10 minutes to order and 20 to be done. Also, did not tell us breakfast was included in rate until we checked out, so we ended up paying for takeout at the window after waiting in line for 15 minutes and hostess was busy clearing tables.
Blue point provision company food was the best meal we had there and the cocktails were very good. Live acoustic was a nice touch in the library in the evenings.
The icing on the cake was when service booked for a jet ski needed to rescheduled the next day and they refused to accommodate even a 30 minute late checkout so our son could shower before we left.
We could have gone anywhere for a long weekend with our young adult kids and we chose to come here and spend a lot of money on property. We have been coming to Cambridge for 10 years now and love the town, the really nice people, and the vibe. Rooms were usually sold out at the Hyatt, so we decided to give it a shot to enjoy the facility, but thanks to poor management, don’t think we’ll be coming back to the Hyatt again.
