Oceanview Bungalow Style Home in Owls Head

Cozy Oceanview nautical themed home off of Crockett's Beach in Owls Head, Maine. Just over a mile away from Birch Point State Park where you might catch a glimpse of the lobstermen work. Ten minutes to Rockland, the Lobster Capital of the World and the art center of the mid-coast where you can visit art galleries and the Farnsworth Art Museum. The Rockland Chamber of Commerce, located in Rockland has information on local events and activities. Visit antique shops, and restaurants. Fifteen minutes to PenBay Medical center in Rockland. Twenty minutes to Camden harbor, full of windjammers. Explore the little villages of the St, George, Spruce Head, Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde. Enjoy the views from local lighthouses and the Rockland Breakwater!

The house is very open and light, has an upstairs bedroom with a king size bed with a walk out terrace and a half bathroom with a small open area with a twin size bed. Downstairs is a bedroom with a queen size bed, and a bedroom with a full size bed. The main floor also has a twin size bunk bed. There is a full bathroom with shower and jacuzzi tub, kitchen with stove, refrigerator, and basic kitchen supplies. The living room has a couch and chair. There is baseboard heat. TV and Wifi. Also No smoking please.

Beautiful Relaxing Retreat

Owls Head is close to Camden but like a quiet retreat location. The home is beautifully decorated and landscaped. Plenty of room for a family or multiple couples. Would definitely return.

This home was everything we expected and more. The descriptions and photos of the home and property fall short of actually seeing this property and experiencing it. 5 stars out of 5. 10 on a scale of 10. My husband and adult daughter enjoyed a late August week here in this peaceful mid-coastal Maine home. The home is well appointed with everything you would need. Beautifully decorated with a coastal theme, comfortable, and located in a peaceful friendly private neighborhood. We liked that it was close enough to many of the Maine attractions for day trips and that the neighboring towns offered great shops, dining, and sightseeing.

Our time in Owls Head was fantastic! The house was perfect for our family. There was plenty of space inside and outside for all five of us to spread out and relax. The kids especially loved getting to play outside. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and more and was so convenient for our daily excursions. We would definitely recommend this property to any one visiting the area!

We had a wonderful weekend in Owls Head! The property was clean, spacious and quiet. I was visited by a hummingbird each morning as I drank my coffee. A way to brew a pot of coffee might be nice but not a big deal. The kitchen had everything our group of 4 needed. We brought all our beach stuff including towels and chairs which made our trip to Birch Point perfect.

Location was beautiful, property was immaculate, but it’s lacking some basics! Here is what is needed: kitchen towels, potholders, a tea kettle, a coffeemaker, wine glasses, drinking glasses other than plastic, bath mats, saucepans (there were only stock pots) . But most importantly, the listing should have stated that two of the three bedrooms are in the basement where there is no bathroom. Older women like my sister and I, who need to toilet several times a night, do not want to ascend to a different floor to use the potty in the middle of the night . That important fact should be duly noted in the listing. Both my sister and I had to sleep on the main floor..me on the sofa, my sister on an inflatable mattress which we needed to go out and purchase at Walmart, along with a coffeemaker and kitchen towels. Also, I removed the stair treads while we were there, as they are loose and my sister slipped and fell off the bottom step when one of the treads came loose! I’ve been the housekeeping manager for seven oceanfront summer rentals in York Maine for eleven years, so I’m well aware of what amenities and information make a great rental! All things considered, once we set ourselves up to be comfortable, we had a wonderful stay in Owl’s Head!

Wonderful!

This was our second time at this pristine property. It is a nice quiet spot and very well-equipped for our needs. It is close to beaches, trails and restaurants. It has very easy access to the Maine seacoast towns of Rockland, Rockport and Camden. We will definitely return for a third visit!

Lovely home and nice location

It was not quite a clean and new as last year. My one gripe would be that there are not many towels and there is no place to hang towels to dry in either bathroom. We actually brought 2 small clothes drying racks with us because it was a problem last year too. Other than that, the place is perfect for us.

Perfect for a relaxing Maine vacation!

We had the absolute best time at this property. It was welcoming, clean, and cozy with views of the ocean, a deck and second floor balcony, an amazing outdoor grill and a firepit. The house has plenty of spaces to commune as a family, and lots of private areas if you need some quiet time. There are multiple TVs and window A/C units to keep the house comfortable on hot days. Camden and Rockport are an easy ride away, and there are multiple hiking trails nearby. The hosts are friendly and gracious… highly recommend!!

House is Perfection

The house is absolutely beautiful and in a wonderful location with views of the ocean and a short walk to the beach. The house is wonderfully decorated, was spotlessly clean, and the hosts have thought of everything you could possibly need. The neighborhood is very peaceful and we had a wonderful time enjoying the deck and taking drives up the coast. There is a small regional airport nearby, but the noise was not disturbing and we actually enjoyed watching the small aircraft fly overhead. Highly recommend and we look forward to our return visit.
