Family Thanksgiving

This property was amazing! Everything was exactly as stated in the listing. There was plenty of room for cooking and gathering for our family Thanksgiving! We would definitely stay here again!

peaceful getaway

Our small family (2 parents, 2 teenagers) had a lovely getaway for two nights in this new and beautiful home. It was just a few weeks after Helene, and the home was accessible, so we brought all food and didn't leave the house so as to not be in the community's way. The kitchen was well stocked (pots & pans, utensils, dishes, etc) to allow us to comfortably do all the meals in with our grocery run well before arriving in the Asheville area. The house was comfortable and new and well designed. The water pressure was a bit if-y (just be ready to not be using more than one shower at a time). If you're an early riser, you get the benefit of gorgeous sunrises based on how the home faces. It makes the home pretty warm given the amount of morning sun through all the glass, but we were able to keep it comfortable with opening windows. Overall a really peaceful and relaxing private location.

Form over function

This property is 100% beautiful and the view is amazing. That being said, there were a lot of practical issues with the home. The water pressure is non existent to the point where if anyone in the house had a sink on or toilet flush, the water in the shower basically stopped. Out of the 5 girls staying there no one attempted to wash their hair once we saw how bad the shower was and we would do very quick rinse offs. In addition, the dishwasher is not tall enough to fit a standard dinner plate so we ended up having to hand wash a lot of dishes which is not ideal on vacation. There is also a horrible clanging noise that comes from a utility closet on the bottom floor. It kept the two girls in the room next to it awake on and off all night. You also can’t turn down the AC past 70 or something without it breaking according to the manual and it got pretty warm at times/felt warmer than 70. Overall, while it definitely is a beautiful property and it was fine for a weekend, these were all really inconvenient and put a damper on our excitement for the place.
