"1 3/4 bed, not double although enough space in bedroom for a king size, and I'm sorry to say, the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever experienced. Dead flies and spider webs around the property but otherwise fairly clean. Small TV. Impractical bath, no shower curtain, had to shower crouched in the bath to avoid water spilling over the bath. Bathroom door doesn't shut or gets stuck if managed to close. Muddy parking area. Beautiful property, nicely decorated and lovely area"

"The hotel is in a great location (situated on a main street and in-between both rail stations). The hotel itself has an old charm to it. Note that there are 3 floors including ground floor and no lift which is common for older properties. The carpets, as well as furniture, are very outdated. That said, the overall experience was charming. This was primarily because of the young gentleman who worked the front desk and the morning kitchen was kind, professional, and truly loved his job. He enjoys meeting the guests and conducts himself in welcoming and professional manner. He also carried my luggage up and down the stairs (I am not sure I would have managed it on my own). There are plenty of places to eat nearby and the Marlowe Theatre is directly behind the property. I would definitely stay here again!"

"What a great stay!! It’s closer to the Canterbury West station, which means that it is away from all the crowds of bus tourists! Everything about this place was great - from the proprietors, the bartenders, the waiters, everyone! The sleep was the best sleep I’d had in days of our three week traveling. We had the best view of the Cathedral from our room and the breakfast was really lovely! Thank you! We will be back!"

"A beautiful hotel & a perfect 2 night stay in a lovely room. Great Reception & Bar Staff. We stayed as attending 2 Kent CCC matches just further along the New Dover Road. Free parking throughout the stay which was ideal, easy walk to both the City itself & the cricket. Would totally recommend this hotel & look forward to staying again next summer. A credit to the Best Western "portfolio" !"

"This was a lovely hotel extremely well-situated close to the center of old town in Canterbury, no more than a 5-minute walk to the cathedral, and with a small market conveniently located next door. The staff were wonderful, and the room couldn't be beat. I ended up in the top floor suite, with a comfy living room, lovely bathroom, and wonderful bed and bedroom. I was traveling solo, but there was ample room in the suite for several people to gather and relax. (There were even some board games!) My absolute favorite part was the private balcony, which had plenty of seating and wonderful views of the cathedral and city. Having breakfast in the hotel was a convenient option, although I would suggest ordering hot items a la carte off the menu instead of paying for the breakfast-included rate. (Although it wasn't expensive, I wasn't able to substitute it for my preferred breakfast.) All in all, this hotel was an extremely comfortable and convenient place to stay, and I would absolutely stay here again!"
