"The Rui Palace was a nice place to visit. Visit Week of July 6th 2026. Pros: -Great staff, very friendly -Daily room cleaning -Room was available 1 hour early -Beautiful pool area -Nice nightly shows/bands -Tasty snacks in the lobby, bar area Cons: -Dated interior -Rooms had a humid, light moldy smell but was tolerable -Food was average at best, first come first serve, so although we stayed for a week, we missed one restaurant due to capacity -Occasionally in the early morning, had a slight sewage smell outside near pool area Overall give it 4 out of 5 stars Ella"
Bahia Pez Vela Resort

"When we arrived to the resort around 4pm af the office had already closed and we were given a packet by the security guard who spoke very little English. We were hoping to speak to someone when we arrived to confirm all of our excursions for the next day. We also rented a golf cart and it was supposed to be there when we arrived and it was not. We also walked into our condo and the ac was broke. Due to the office being closed we had no way of contacting someone so we had to go down to the restaurant for them to contact someone for us. They did end up sending someone out but our condo never cooled down until the next day. The condo was very dated and our beds were hard as a rock. The resort itself is beautiful and the private beach is very nice. The on site restaurant was our favorite, the food was delicious but it always took forever to get our food even if we were the only ones there eating. The resort location is nice but it’s about 21 min to town and the area you have to drive through to get to town is very sketchy!!! We were also not impressed with the town. If we ever come back to Coasta Rica we will definitely stay in a different town!!"

"Place was beautiful, stayed in a private house. The AC in the room was perfect. Bartender in the main bar was incredible. Didn’t like the pool bars closing at 5pm and wished they had activities that had people in the hotel get together. But everything was perfect."
