「We had a wonderful two-night stay. It was rustic and very homey. It had all of the conveniences of home. The location was amazing. We were able to explore the Cabot Trail and come back "home" to relax. 」

「The property is not in the National Park. It is located near Baddeck on a spectacular property overlooking the Bras d'Or. The view is beautiful. The host was responsive to our needs, and the place was spotlessly clean.」

「Looking for peace and quiet with an amazing view; this is the place to go. The wooden cottage is located up a hill with an amazing view on Lake Bras d’Or. The pictures are 100% accurate. Only thing to keep in mind, the drive up the hill is quite steep and the gravel road is quite bumpy. If you don’t drive a 4x4 or an awd vehicle, make sure your car is not too close to the ground or you could scrape and cause damage.」

「The cabin we stayed at was private with beautiful views of the ocean. We enjoyed watching the seals in the morning and evening at our own overlook with coffee or wine. The host, Ton, was friendly, welcoming and makes a great pannenkoeken for breakfast if you choose to eat at his restaurant. Overall a great start to our vacation and a good base for exploring Cape Breton. 」

Having spent my summers on the Bras d’Or lake as a child I knew what I was getting with regards to lake (it is clear, warmer than the ocean, salt water —perfect to me!), but this was my first stay at Lakeside Luxury. I booked the cottage which was a great option for privacy, the screened porch was perfect for the mornings and evenings to get away from bugs. 「This was the first experience we ever had with a Vrbo or similar style of stay. We usually only stay in Hotels however if we are able to stay in places like this again then we will likely only stay here. This property was exactly as advertised and so clean! We had a blast and enjoyed the boats, water, hot tub and all the amenities. We will happily return to this property soon. PS - Make sure to get access to the sauna and community hot tub.
