This Cape Charles family retreat is the perfect place for your family -- or even 2 or more families to vacation together!
Renovated in 2021, this 4 bedroom, 3 bath home is in the beautiful gated "Colony" community of Bay Creek -- and provides ample space for those who want to hang out together... or for those who need some quiet time. The Strand offers free access to two 6-passenger golf carts, stand-up paddle boards and other beach gear, propane grills, and rainy day activities like pool/billiards, ping pong, indoor shuffleboard, and more!
The Strand's beds comfortably sleep 12 people with an extra pullout couch in the crow's nest if needed. Bedding and towels are provided. A Pack'n'Play is also available for your use.
BEDS/BATHS: Located on the 1st floor, the master bedroom has a king-size bed, smart TV, walk-in closet, and sliding doors leading out to the 1st floor deck. The large private master bath has a roomy double-head walk-in shower with bench, soaking tub, and plenty of lighting. The 2nd bedroom on the 1st floor has a queen-size bed, smart TV, and 4-piece ensuite bathroom; the bedroom also has sliding doors to the 1st floor deck. On the 2nd floor, you'll find two more bedrooms (one with two double beds and one with two single beds and one double bed), smart TVs in each bedroom, and another 4-piece bath.
KITCHEN/DINING: On the 2nd floor, the home boasts a modern, well-equipped kitchen with all new appliances -- it's a vacationing chef’s dream! There is a Keurig, as well as a drip coffee maker. The dining room has an 8-seat table, perfect for eating, playing boardgames, and putting together puzzles. There are also 5 barstools for additional seating plus a high chair for our youngest guests.
LIVING ROOM: With sliding door access to a huge deck, the living room is a fabulous common space. Here you will find a smart TV, gas fireplace, pool table, indoor shuffleboard, and amazingly comfortable couches where you can curl up and binge your favorite shows and movies.
CROW'S NEST: The 3rd floor is a perfect hideaway for teens, couples, or others who want to enjoy a separate - but nearby - space. The aforementioned wine fridge and wet bar, as well as a smart TV and sleeper sofa, are up here. There is also a small deck with chairs and an umbrella -- and views of the Chesapeake Bay.
OUTDOOR SPACE: This vacation rental has 3 decks with ample tables and outdoor seating, wood firepit, propane grill, corn hole, paddle boards, cooler, and beach umbrellas and chairs for your use. There is also a ping pong table in one of the garages. Guests can also use the Bay Creek Community outdoor pool and tennis /pickleball courts (on the other side of the town - a short golf cart-ride away). We offer two 6-passenger golf carts that can be used during your stay; we require releases / use agreements to be signed by everyone that is going drive them, and drivers must be at least 21 years old with a valid drivers license.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY: Cape Charles is a golf cart friendly community. You will enjoy touring town with its quaint boutique shops, restaurants, art galleries, theatre, brewery, distillery, and an unspoiled public beach. Enjoy free fishing off the pier, crabbing, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, sunset cruises, and deep-sea fishing and boating excursions. Sunsets and happy hour at the Shanty or Oyster Farm (the latter of which is walking distance from the home!) are spectacular. Live music is featured at the C-Pier of Bay Creek Marina, a short walk away or golf cart ride. Drive or walk over to Central Park in the heart of Cape Charles for live evening concerts.
This home is within walking distance of the Kings Creek wedding venue, making it an ideal location for the bridal party as well as wedding guests.
That said, you will need a car to drive 5 minutes out of town to shop at the Food Lion grocery store, where you can stock up on groceries, beverages, and any supplies you may want.
Whatever you’re seeking, without a doubt the beauty and luxury of this home make it the perfect place for family and friends to spread out and unwind. We think once you vacation at the Strand, you'll make this an annual destination. Our only requirements are that you keep your pets at home and that you refrain from smoking and hosting large parties/events at our home.
