Our short stay in Carcassonne was extremely pleasant and comfortable at Hôtel Le Donjon. The parking arrangements are very convenient, the rooms comfortable and the staff very friendly. Our only issue was the shower didn't have a screen attached that actually stopped the water from going all over the floor. A minor detail that could be easily fixed. Apart from that I would definitely book Hôtel Le Donjon again.

A lovely hotel in the heart of medieval Carcassonne with lots of cafes, restaurants and beautiful shops all on the doorstep. Staff on reception, at breakfast and cleaning were all great and attentive. Our suite room was spacious, with a great coffee machine and toiletries. The garden was a nice quiet space to sit and enjoy some sunshine.

One of the rare options inside the walls of Carcassone. Unfortunately, it is not a 4-star hotel. The location definitely is, but the hotel is not. We were in room 45, which is an annex behind the main rooms. Room was clean, no issues there. But it is far from today’s standards. Furniture is outdated and shower is from another age. No bath in the room. Breakfast was well stocked and had good variety. Transportation to and from the hotel was quick and well organized. Overall, it remains a good option given its location but be ready for an average room.

This hotel is absolutely perfectly located right in the heart of the mediaeval town. It is charming and friendly and clean. The parking is on the outside of the city walls but the hotel was great for sending a shuttle to look after the suitcases. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Visitors need to understand that taking the city bus is a viable alternative for those without a car. Our taxi never arrived at the train station, so we walked. A memorable walk, but a little more gruelling than necessary.

sehr tolles Hotel mitten in der Festung! Wir sind mit dem Auto angereist, privater & gesicherter Parkplatz - man wird abgeholt und ins Hotel gefahren (ca. 5min), weil Autofreie-Zone. Zimmer gross, geräumig, sauber. Frühstück lecker und Personal sehr sympatisch und freundlich. Wer die Festung vor dem Touristenstrom erleben möchten, ist am richtigen Ort :)
