Very good value for an excellent location in central Cardiff. I found it a very safe place to stay as a solo traveller, with 24 hour reception and really lovely staff. The accommodation is basic but clean and had everything I needed.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff and location (if you want to be close to the Principality anyway). It’s slap bang in the middle of the town centre, and it’s an old ‘traditional’ hotel, so be aware it’s not brand spanking new and deathly quiet… but if you want a friendly hotel, 2 mins walk from the stadium, the castle and the train station, this ticks the boxes… I can thoroughly recommend breakfast at The Welsh House, just up the road towards Cardiff Castle
