When we arrived the front desk person was so unfriendly. I asked for a corkscrew because I'd bought a nice bottle of wine and "no" was what we heard. No trying to be helpful-just NO. So I asked what was available for breakfast-"NO MEAT!" (I didn't even ask about meat-basically trying to make small talk) he said-just fruit and muffins. Not what had been disclosed when "breakfast included" was advertised. We weren't really planning on having breakfast there anyway but it was the negative attitude that was so off-putting. The room was ok but the coffee pot was broken (we didn't find out until we wanted to use it the next morning). The carpet in the room was badly stained and there was a bar of soap for amenities. I guess what was so disappointing was that it looked like they had taken an old motel and renovated it. We thought the low price meant they were trying to get travelers to stay there and would give great service so we would give fantastic reviews and they'd get their name on the map. We've experienced this other times and been so happy. I've never given a poor rating because we've usually found redeeming qualities even if the hotel wasn't the best-the staff tried.

So many little issues I can’t begin to name them. No soap, no cups for tooth brushing or coffee. Cigarette burns on the sheets. The bed was comfortable. Mattress appeared fairly new. Terrible breakfast. Watered down orange juice. Good coffee I’m told. The bananas were unbelievably past their date. Bananas are the cheapest thing they could get fresh daily and made no effort. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

It's one of the few motels in downtown Carlsbad and very convenient to where I was working. However, the carpet is room was very stained and the air conditioner made a great deal of noise all night. The breakfast selections were very limited.

A perfectly acceptable room in a town that caters to Carlsbad Caverns tourists and oilfield workers. Air con/heater was obnoxiously loud and first room offered clearly hadn't been cleaned. Otherwise fairly quiet and quite clean. "Breakfast" is meh.

This place was really cute on the outside and had super potential. Our actual room was so gross, from the toilet and shower to the fridge and countertops. I was so thankful that we were there to basically sleep only.
