Fantastic house!
We were a family (Grandparents, grown kids, little kids) in town for a wedding and this spot was perfect. Location: Great! Easy to get to Carpenteria restaurants as well as Santa Barbara. If you are attending a wedding or event at the Rincon Beach Club, this is literally 4 mins away. We had our dogs with us and the walk around the surrounding streets was very pleasant. Beds: Super comfortable! Kitchen: Great for a group. Parking: Very easy, there was one spot in the driveway and then room for more cars right outside the house on the street. Backyard: Our 3 year old daughter loved the play structure!! We couldn't have had a better time. Thank you!!

We felt immediately at home when we walked up the path to the door and entered to find roomy, comfortable surroundings with a fabulous backyard! Our host Lisa was available with a few questions we had, too! I'd return here . . .and with little kids - all was suited perfectly for them!

Perfect for family get-together
My wife and stayed here along with 4 adult children and 1 spouse to attend the wedding of a 5th child. The venue was nearby, so this was perfect for staging the event with plenty of room for people to drop by, change after a long drive, or catch a little break from festivities. The house is larger than it appears and prettier than the listing photos. Roses and hydrangea were blooming in the front yard and mature greenery kept the backyard quite private. The kitchen is huge and very well-equipped for cooking, baking, prepping or serving. The bedrooms are large and bathrooms expansive. The back yard is the show-stealer--dining area and sitting area with umbrellas, fire pit, ping-pong, huge children's gym set and a large hot tub which is the cleanest one I have ever used in a rental! Lisa was super prompt and questions were dealt with immediately. The price is very fair--we consider it a very good value. It is luxuriously comfortable for 6 adults; hide-a-beds and a roll-away would make it possible for 8 or 9 with just a little squeezing together. We were very pleased with our entire stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking in this area.

Perfect Family Retreat
The floor plan of this home is so well thought out. Plenty of room everywhere for a family to spread out, Kitchen is spectacular, bathrooms have plenty of counter space and mirrors. The back yard is so relaxing. I will definitely return!

Lovely Loon Cottage - convenient location
Loved all of the nice home touches - super nice kitchen, beach chairs & equipment, bicycles (didn't use them), spa, beautiful yards, and very family friendly. Host Lisa was very responsive and informed us about things in the area. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend this home!

Hi Valerie, it’s common practice to remind guests as we’ve had plenty of instances where the guests do not read or adhere to the rules. It was only a text which read: “ Just a gentle reminder (as I do with all guests) that the outdoor Sound Ordinance is 10pm-7am on Sundays. Thank you!”. Thank you for the information on the tenant. I’ve discussed it with the tenant and she writes, “ Hi Lisa , I have no idea who this is? The family that was here this past weekend was great, no issues at all, and to be honest I was out most of Saturday and have been sick, either on the couch or patio since then. The only time I saw them was while giving Finn a bath out front on Saturday, and yesterday morning in the driveway. No issues.”. Maybe you can explain in more detail and why you are referring to her as a “Karen”? She’s in her 70’s.

What a cozy little gem!
Quiet, charming & cozy family paradise. From the moment we walked through the doors, my shoulders relaxed. Everything is clearly labelled (with little framed notes/instrictions) carefully framed throughout the home. Lovely living space. Wonderful kitchen for hanging out and entertaining family. Some indoor and outdoor toys and books for kids (thank you!). Backyard is a dream come true for moms. Playground, sand, ping pong table & secure jacuzzi with pagoda/cover & lights (great place to relax after kids are put to bed!). Ideal location 5 min drive to Padaro, Butterfly, Santa Claus & Summerland beaches. Summerland also has a grassy park & playground above the beach! Unfortunately, the oil rigs have resulted in inpleasant odor along beaches & sand has a bit of oil sheen to it. We enjoyed a short walk on the beach and opted to avoid beaches due to this. Such a shame for such a beautiful area. Apart from beach condition and traffic noise - only heard from backyard, this is a little piece of paradise. Conveniently located 10 min drive from downtown SB.

The Best Beach House!
So grateful to find a place that is kid friendly! My son spent all his time playing in the backyard, and the inside toys were such a pleasant bonus. There were multiple bedding and seating options for any age combination you might have in your family. Even with all the kid stuff there was plenty of opportunity for the adults to enjoy the elevated space. Definitely something for everyone here, we’ll be back!

Montecito Getaway
Great location for family getaway to Santa Barbara. Freeway close was not an issue... just a fact. Loved the home, the backyard for the kids, and the attention to detail. Will certainly come back!

Great place for family gathering
My husband and I rented this for three nights along with our 2 daughters, their spouses and 4 children, ages 8 mos, 1, 3, 4. Though we were looking for 4 bedrooms, this worked great. We used the crib, pack in play, twins with railings, And pullout couch off the kitchen. The master has a huge closet that easily could have fit a couple toddlers on the floor. The outside area is delightful. The play set with swings and slide were fun, as well as the sandbox area underneath The kids toys in the rental were much appreciated. Though we had a range of ages and kids, it would be perfect for adults. One king, one queen. Lots of sitting areas in and out, a nice hot tub, fancy kitchen and close to Padero Lane beach and Summerland.

Great house for all ages!
Overall this was a fantastic property that had everything that was needed. For a large group (4 adults and 5 kids) we had plenty of space and everything that was needed to cook / keep the kids occupied. In addition to a great house, the backyard was spacious and having a swing set and ping pong table was a huge plus for the kids. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in the area!

Harrison and Caitlin's Wedding
Our son on April 1st married his forever love and we stayed at "Our" private gateway It was AMAZING zero complaints. We had just moved from Summerland and I knew we would need a home this place was perfect on so many levels. As the mother of the groom, it was important to have a comfortable space for our family to welcome our son's bride and her family along with extended families that traveled to celebrate Harrison and Caitlin. We hosted a Friday Shabbat dinner with the two families before the Welcome party at TopaTopa in the funk zone and we had difficulty with the oven. Lisa and the owner were extremely helpful, accommodating, and sincere. I am confident the problem has been addressed. We look forward to staying here again and highly recommend it

Perfect Family Place
We stayed here with my sister and her kids plus my parents and my family to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday. The house was immaculate and comfortable for our group including kids ages 9-17. The hosts have thought of everything. The kitchen is well stocked, backyard is fun and entertaining, perfect number of towels and super comfy beds. We had a wonderful weekend and loved having this house as our homebase while we explored Santa Barbara and Carpenteria.

Beautiful little home away from home!
This Carpinteria home was everything my group needed for a fun weekend in Santa Barbara. Lisa was incredibly helpful and flexible in letting us change dates due to the recent floods in the area. She also worked quickly to help remedy some small damage that occurred during our stay. We very much enjoyed our room arrangements and every one slept comfortably. Our only regret was not staying an extra day to really make full use of the property’s jacuzzi, fire pit, and beautiful kitchen. We found ourselves out and about most of the time!

I stayed here with my family and couple of dogs over Christmas. The place was fantastic and Lisa was great to work with. The yard was huge and the hot tub worked very well. All in all I would definitely recommend!

FABULOUS
Loon Cottage is everything a home away from home should be. It was spotless, comfortable, had lots of amenities that we thoroughly enjoyed, (ping pong table! hot tub! Fire pit!) and an outdoor dining table we used constantly. It is readily apparent that the owner takes great care to keep the renters in mind. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, serving pieces and bakeware. There is a handyman literally working the cut-de-sac, so anything you need tweaked is immediately taken care of. We had our son's German Shepard staying, and there were couch blankets specifically for him! I love that they had that taken care of this ahead of time as we want to come back in the future and will be dogless. The property is next-door to the Polo Fields and we went to a match and walked home effortlessly, and what fun it was! The beach at Padaro is a 20 minute walk away, or a 10 minute bike ride. In all a wonderful property. Can't wait to come back!

Beautiful property.
This was our second stay at the Toro Canyon property, and it will not be our last. The house is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is large and extremely well stocked. The open, safe cul-de-sac provided space for our grandchildren to ride bikes and scooters. We had a beautiful family vacation in this special home.

The owner was super helpful with anything we needed, I bought my infant son, and toddler, the crib was honestly perfect and super comfortable, he loved it. Didn't use the pack n play but I saw it was a really nice Nuna , so super easy to put up. Everything in the home is up to date which I love, the toys were clean and the sandbox/playhouse outside was clean. My family really enjoyed how everything in the house is labeled and easy to figure out. We will definitely be staying here again !

We traveled here for a family wedding and the house was perfect. We loved the kitchen and back yard.
Great home! Looks just like the photos. We used everything including all the unique Amenities like the grill, fireplace, Jacuzzi gourmet kitchen and bikes. Lisa responded immediately to our questions. A couple suggestions… larger bars of soap for shower and battery operated broom.

We stayed at Loon Point Cottage for our Son’s wedding in Santa Barbara. We have rented several houses over the years and this was by far one of our favorites! The house was just as described and perfect for our group. The kitchen was very well stocked, the yard was beautiful and it was very kid friendly complete with a crib, high chair and toys. I would highly recommend this property.

Another great stay at the Loon Point Cottage!
My friends & family had another great stay at the Loon Point Cottage! This was our second annual stay here and, once again, it was perfect for our two families. Our kids (3, 4 and 7) love the play structure in the backyard and the tent & toys in the family room. Since it is on a short private road, they were able to safely ride their scooters on the street. Plus, they enjoyed the short walk to visit the horses, goats, ducks & chickens along the trail. For families with babies, the house has pretty much everything that you could need - crib, pack ‘n play, and high chair. The entire house is very clean and well-kept. The kitchen has everything that you can think of. And although there are no large grocery stores nearby, we were able to easily order groceries via Instacart. As recommended in the house handbook, Reyes Market has delicious takeout. Padaro Beach Grill is also a fantastic family-friendly spot. The location is great as it is so close to Santa Barbara, as well as Loon Point Beach, Santa Claus Lane, Summerland, and downtown Carpinteria. And the cherry on top is that we are able to bring our dogs, who thoroughly enjoy the backyard as well. We look forward to our next visit to Loon Point Cottage!

Beautiful family-friendly getaway
We rented this location for a Friday and Saturday night. The house is very clean and had enough space to accommodate a family of 6 with space to spare. The back yard is well-maintained and is inviting to both adults and children alike. I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

Very nice house
The house had everything we needed for a short vacation. It was perfect to go with family and kids. The kitchen is brand new and very well equipped. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, so if someone is sleeping in the living room one bathroom could get crowded. When you are outside the noise of the highway could get a little disturbing but thanks to the good acoustics of the house you can't hear it from the inside. The house is 10 minutes away from Santa Barbara. Lisa was very nice and made communication very easy and clear! We had a great time and I recommend it!

Hi Laura, You are welcome anytime! Unfortunately the construction work on Highway 101 has made it a bit challenging for all the homes near to the freeway. The good news is that part of their current work will include a sound wall which Cal Trans has been promising since 2007. Slated for completion later this year! There is some noise, but most guests don’t find it a hindrance at all. The home has triple paned windows, so you do not hear the road noise at all inside the home.
