Very small shower room

酒店就在市中心，很方便。定了2个特级房，第一次入住房间蛮大，和图片里的一样，就是临街有点吵。大床2个人会向中间滑，很不舒服。第二次入住给的房间就像标准房，很小，根本不是特级房。淋浴房很小，不能转身,。早餐比较简单。员工比较热心。

酒店就在市中心，比较方便。定了2晚特级房，第一晚房间不错，比较大，和图片相符，房间临街有点吵，大床不舒服，两个人睡会向中间滑。第二次入住给了间小的房间，根本不像特级房。Wi-Fi 信号时有时无。

zentral gelegenes, schönes Hotel.

Das Hotel ist sehr zentral wodurch man alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und das Nachtleben ohne Auto erleben kann. Das Auto selbst kann man sicher im Innenhof parken und erspart sich somit die lästige Parkplatzsuche. Das Frühstück in der verglasten Terrasse ist ein wirkliches Highlight! Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber und edel mit kleinem Balkon zur Straße. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Disappointing

We stayed at the hotel Royal for 2 nights in October. The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the centre, however it is up quite a steep hill, so if you have a lot of baggage it’s not ideal. The room itself was ok, not as nice as the one shown in pictures but the bed was comfortable. Sadly the room smelled of feet and we had no toilet seat and had request one.One of the main reasons for booking was the jacuzzi, however we later found it was €30 per couple per hour to use. Once we finally located the rooftop we had a look at the jacuzzi and it was completley falling to peices and didnt look clean. Would not pay a penny to sit in it. Although difficult to access, the rooftop itself is a nice area to sit. On check in we were given absolutely no guidance to the hotel or our room.We had the hotel breakfast both days as we thought this was included. It consisted of hard boiled eggs, processed bread, some pastries & fruit. This would have been mediocre at best if it was free, however on check out we were informed that it was €10 pp, per day which is absolutely extortionate for what’s offered. We were not informed of this anywhere beforehand. All around the hotel there are plenty of brilliant breakfast options at a fraction of this cost, so unless you’re getting it free, I wouldn’t go near it. Overall, I’d say the hotel used to be great, however is run down and in need of a deep clean these days. Also, WiFi access is limited to 10 minutes at a time. Not impressed

Centrally located hotel

The good things about Hotel Royal are that it is well located, well priced, close to lots of bars and restaurants and that the rooms are clean. There are great views of the city from the breakfast room. However, it is clear that the hotel is due a re-fresh and that it is not comparable to other 4 stars in the area. It is good value for money and the staff are helpful. I left something in the room and emailed the hotel and they were very gracious about it when I returned two days later. The beds are quite hard (as is common in Italy) but there was something curiously uncomfortable and basic about the rooms that didn't seem to justify a 4 star rating. It is good value for money so if you need a no-frills stay in central Catania then maybe this is for you. If yo want a bit more comfort and even a bit of luxury you might need to re-think.

Excellent service

We spent one night in Catania. The hotel is very conveniently placed. Close to historic sites and activities. While very clean, the facility appears a bit shabby. Wall paint and rug cleaning would improve the appearance. The service was excellent. We appreciate the assistance from the gentleman at the front desk. We were pleased with our stay.

The hotel has a great location. Fairly easy to find. Breakfast was very good. The rooms are a bit old and could do with an upgrade. Good service. Very helpful in reception.

Not a 4 star hotel!

Staf are friendly and helpful apart of one yapping young girl who appeared instead of very nice receptionist. Hotel very dated, all furnishings very tired, bathroom not clean at all. Close to the nice part of Catania. Parking at a premium. Could be ok for a 3 star if cleaned/refreshed bathroom and at lower price.

It was a fine hotel, not similar to other 4-star hotels in Europe. Therefore, if one is comparing, just be aware of this fact. It is walking distance from all major attractions and shopping district. The hotel staff were very nice and accomodated all our needs. It has a parking (surcharge) which is greatly appreciated.

Hôtel confort superbement placé

Hôtel superbement placé. Au cœur de la vieille ville, tout se fait aisément à pied et il est possible de revenir à l’hôtel en cours de circuit pour se reposer un peu. L’hotel en lui même est un peu désuet mais très confortable. Je n’ai pas vu le jacuzzi sur la terrasse, le personnel n’en parle pas et j’avoue ne pas avoir demandé quand j’ai vu qu’il était à 15€/h par personne. Les petits déjeuners sont à 10€ et sont servis sur une terrasse qui domine la via Crocifere, magnifique ! Le parking était à 15€/jour, indispensable dans ce quartier. Le personnel de l’accueil était aimable, un peu trop discret peut-être. Globalement, un très agréable séjour 👍

Beautiful hotel and our room was outstanding: actually a small suite complete with private outdoor sitting area. The aircon was a bit difficult to understand and we never quite got it working satisfactorily but that wasn’t a problem. Recommended

Nice hotel, great location, exceptional breakfast

Our room had a large balcony with table and chairs. The staff was very friendly. My wife is celliac, and not only was the breakfast very nice and rich, but they provided her with a selection of GF breads, croissants, muffins and more. Minor problems: noisy AC, hard to control shower temperature. Overall a great experience.

Old but Great

From what we understand, Hotel Royal was once a palace and the building is very old. The amenities were great but some things were missing. There seemed to only be one accessible power outlet for the entire room and the light switch system was unique but complicated (not sure which button turned on/off what light). There was a big step down from the bed to the main floor area which made it a little dangerous to go the toilet at night. On the plus side, the breakfast was good and the local area was fantastic; well within walking distance of everything worth seeing or tour meeting areas.

At first glance everything looked fabulous .The room was HUGE and we looked at it with amusement and delight . However it was actually a little shabby with touches of modernity such as the high tech light switches which were overcomplicated and difficult if not impossible to get working .the same with the jacuzzi shower - trying to get it to do anything was impossible and no instructions were provided so it was somewhat frustrating . The minibar was well stocked and reasonably priced but there were no tea or coffee making facilities which was a disappointment especially as the bar appeared unmanned . Breakfast was average. Overall it was good for a laugh as the room was so extravagant in appearance and unusual but we would not go back and felt it was not really worth the additional money we paid for the so called luxury.
