I’m sorry that your stay did not live up to your or my expectations. One of the things I say in the welcome letter and also in the guest notebook is to let me know while you are there if there’s a problem or if something is not up to your expectation, so that I have an opportunity to do something about it. Unfortunately the first time that I am hearing that there was a problem with the cleanliness is this review. If I had known there was an issue, I would’ve tried to fix it. If I couldn’t fix it, I would’ve tried to give the guest some form of compensation. However, I didn’t have the opportunity to do either of those. Yes, there is a restaurant next door. This is a downtown property. Occasionally I need to remind them to be more respectful of our guests in terms of volume of conversation and smoking. Again I would have liked the opportunity to address this while the guests were there. The last communication I had was when this guests arrived in town a little over an hour before check-in time and ask if it was possible to check in early. My response was that there someone was on the way to change the combination and that the guest could check in early. Again I had no indication that there were any issues with the guest’s stay until this review.

The parking situation has changed since you last stayed with us. We used to be able to buy reserved parking permits for a numbered space in the lot directly below the suites. However a few years ago the city changed their parking philosophy and no longer allows parking permits. Instead they went to an all metered parking lot below the suites. Weare very fortunate to have reserved parking as close as we do. It is certainly not as convenient as it used to be but at least it is reserved parking. Joan

That French Place is above the back half of the Marina Suite. You will be able to hear the noise from there particularly when they are pounding the butter for the croissants and other baked goods. But it is so worth it if you taste them! I love the Farmers Market on Thursdays. The homemade dog treats are not to be missed. The peanut butter balls are my dog's favorites.

The Marina Suite king-sized bedroom is not underneath That French Place. However the kitchen and living room where the pull out couch is underneath That French Place. That French Place tries their best to be a good neighbor. However, some of their delicious food like their croissants and other pastries requires pounding of the butter. You can hear the pounding of the butter when they do it. They usually do it after 8:30 in the morning. Particularly in the summer it’s hard for them to do it later in the day because the heat from all the baking makes their place really really hot. I’m sorry that these particular guests were disturbed by this noise.
