One detail that particularly touched me was the little surprises they would leave with their stuff toys when tidying my daughters' beds—such a thoughtful and personal touch that made them feel extra special. "Considering the price, this was a great value option in the Medoc wine region. The hotel is a little dated but clean and well maintained. The reception staff are great.
The only thing that could have improved our stay was having more to do around the hotel with young children. With the outdoor pool out of action we were able to use the indoor pool at lunchtime and dinner time each day but otherwise there wasn't much to do. It would be great for example if they could install some petanque courts and provide the equipment. Also more bikes, we were interested in hiring bikes but someone else had hired them."
"We are so lucky to have found Maison Groleau in Mombrier which was the perfect place for my daughter and I to stay for a couple of nights while preparing for her forthcoming marriage in Bordeaux.The house is absolutely beautiful-decorated and furnished in a very modern,stylish way,set amongst the vines with stunning views everywhere,extremely comfortable bedrooms,delicious freshly prepared breakfasts which changed each day and the option of enjoying a fabulous gourmet dinner at the house on prior reservation.The owners Guillaume and Pierre-Louis made us feel very welcome and we are very grateful to them for looking after us both so well.It was a magical stay which we will remember with great fondness as part of the whole French wedding experience.A truly hidden gem which we thoroughly recommend and hopefully we will be able to return in the future!Many thanks :)"
