「Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. 「This property has serious problems with mold, which it covers up with febreeze and incense. Particularly bad for people with lung issues. There is a heating problem which was finally resolved after several calls with a cube heater. Needless to say, you could not open a window to freshen the air. 「Room photos on expedia showed a room that had been nicely renovated but our room was one that clearly hadn't been done yet. Place didn't seem full so I'm guessing not very many rooms look like the pictures. There is a pretty big difference between the room we got and the pictures they show so it's hard not to feel a bit deceived. Sound proofing is lacking so we could hear car doors slamming for most of the night.
Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean.
