Perfect spot to relax and have fun in a quaint, cozy, and unique cabin! The creek was perfect for my 3 yr old grandson to play in and our dog to chase tennis balls. Really enjoyed our stay!

Our family very much enjoyed "Da Barn"! It was neat to learn about the age of the barn and what great condition it is in considering the age. It was the perfect combination of cabin settle in nature, but still having all the great advances of modern ease. Wifi was great! Even though it's about a 15 minute drive up the mountain, all the roads were safe and newer.

Understanding I was staying at the barn to get away and focus on work, the area was beautiful. I enjoyed looking out of the large sliding glass doors to the stream and meadow beyond. Neighbors were a bit noisy but most people would not be working and staying at the barn all the time. The hosts were VERY responsive. Nice place and very convenient to the lake and beautiful mountains!

The outdoor was really nice although the exterior furniture was not clean. Most of the chairs were full of spider webs and dirt. Inside, the floors were sticky and spider webs all around.

The property is very rustic but lovely. However, there were many issues with the cleanliness of the property. It took us an hour once we arrived to get the place to a tolerable level. There was only one bathroom and the sink did not drain so you could not use it and you had to work the toilet to get it to flush. There is a shower curtain over the claw tub shower head but it is too long and hangs into the tub and the curtain is coated with mildew. Does not leave you feeling very clean. The laundry room had a big hole in the floor that could become a safety issue.

Cute property, great location!
But, it was so gross. This place needs dehumidifiers. The smell alone...musty, wet, old. My husbands asthma was triggered and he came home with a weird dry cough, ugghhh!
However, the worst part for me personally was the spider webs/spiders. Behind the beds, up in between the rafters, in every corner, every lamp were spider webs and egg sacks. The surfaces were clean and so was the fridge, that was nice. Mostly disappointed because review after review says ”get a deep clean” and I felt for SURE this would have been a top priority! Alas....nope!

Foul odor from a dead rat which was found behind couch in the bedroom that was rotting in a live bait trap. There was inadequate paper towels and toilet paper also trash bags, had to purchase our own. There was only 4 rolls of toilet paper, 2 rolls of papers towels and only 3 trash bags for an entire week. The pictures listed on VRVO show that the deck from the loft which was unaccessible due to rotting boards. Listing also stated cabin was secluded which is it not. It is located on a corner of the street by the main road. Car lights in windows all through out the night. No privacy in any of the rooms. Houses were up above the loft that can see through the doors of the balcony. No curtains or covering on any of the sliding doors in the loft. There is also fire wood that is listed which is not there. Parking is limited and not recommend for large trucks or SUV’s. NOT WORTH THE COST

After traversing some amazing twisty roads. We arrived to our quaint 300+ year old barn. We were welcomed by the local Llama across the babbling creek. Took a bit to find the lockbox for the key. Once we went inside it felt welcoming and cozy. Just enough room for my family to spend Thanksgiving there. We turned on the heaters, which quickly warmed the entire house. We were a bit toasty. I filled the bird feeder, in which drew more of the cute wildlife over to say hi to us. Like the birds, squirrels and chipmunk. Neighbors were great. Cashiers is just under 20min away but the real treat is shopping in Highlands. The home has plenty of windows/sliding doors, most of which do not have curtains. Tub/shower takes you back to when times were simpler. We had rain one night. The sound of the raindrops on the metal roof were tranquil. Plenty of yard for the dog to run wild but also has a designated spot for them to go potty. It’s fantastic for a family, or a romantic getaway. Highly recommend a stay here.

We loved our stay at “Da Barn”. Great spot for family vacation in the mountains. The house is very comfortable but could use a deep clean. There is no air conditioning so having screens and fans is important. Many windows and patio doors had broken screens or none at all. The ceiling fans all need balancing, they wobble even at slow speeds. The owners left so much food In the freezer that it all came tumbling out when we opened he door. There is considerable road noise and the showers don’t work well, but the bathtubs are amazing and the well water is wonderful. I would still stay here again. The house is charming despite the abov complaints.

there was fesses on the toilet so that clearly showed that they weren’t wiped down. When using the bathroom there were spiders coming out of the toile. When I went to clean the toilet seat, there was urine stains on the seat

This property has some great things and some not so great things.
The good: Beautiful location. Nice, big yard. Good porches. Lovely little creek running through the yard. And the cabin has nice old 'bones.'
The not so good: The cabin is DARK. Really dark. It rained much of the time we were there so we were stuck indoors. There is nowhere near enough lighting in the cabin. The few lamps there are put off almost no light (dark red shades over dim bulbs, for instance) and there is very little overhead lighting. In the bathroom, the overhead light didn't work and two of the three vanity lights were burned out.
There's also a need for some area rugs -- both in the main part of the house and also the main bedroom, which has a cold concrete floor.
If the owner bought a few lamps at Target, and a few area rugs (probably a few hundred bucks total), this place would be vastly improved.
All of this said, we enjoyed our time sitting on the porches overlooking the creek, and driving around the area.

Excellent location, rural enough but still close to a few towns. Nice hiking areas nearby. The house/barn itself was lovely-there are some quirks about it (fun toilet upstairs, which we still used!). Fully functional kitchen. The only thing we found odd was there was a collection of acorns underneath one of the bedroom pillows...squirrels or tooth fairy?

We had a great time! Our family of 5 enjoyed sitting on the hammock by the stream and burning a fire in 65 degree weather for the weekend. We loved the wooden cabin feel the house had. It was so relaxing for naps. Thanks again!

Beautiful area. Artsy style. Open plan conducive to family time (but no privacy in master suite - needs some type of permanent privacy curtains or screens). Dehumidifier was draining under stairs. Smelled musty. Laundry room smells strongly of cat urine. Owner offered credit, which is appreciated, but we will only return if a thorough deep cleaning is assured.

overall we had a great time. Loved the open architecture, spaciousness, decor. Should remind people in listing that AC is not available. Asthma people will probably not do well. Also trash outside is bad idea bec of varmints.

We were visiting for my best friend’s wedding and this house was perfect for us. Beautiful in and out. And Ward was helpful when we called for help with directions to the wedding. Would love to come back some day.
