“The barn is situated on a family farm with the owner, Wendy, living in a neighbouring property. We were made to feel incredibly welcome by Wendy, a lovely welcome pack with cake, biscuits and fudge and even treats for our dog. Nothing is too much trouble and the cottage is equipped with all you could need and more. Although there were only two of us when we travelled, it is very spacious and would be ideal for a larger family with ample parking right outside and a lovely courtyard garden area.”

“Stayed for 3 nights over New Year...was absolute bliss. Late booking and the communication was brilliant to get it sorted. Cottage was immaculate throughout with everything we needed. Perfect location for walks, and yet only 5 minutes from shops and Durham centre Will be returning again for sure...thank you.”

“This was, by far the worst place we have ever rented and we have rented a lot of places. It was filthy. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen cupboards and in the one small pot and one small pan we were to used for cooking (believe me there was no cooking done in them!) there was a dirty pizza encrusted pan in the oven. Dust and cobwebs hung everywhere. The yard was totally unkempt and nothing like the photos. Sad too, because underneath the neglect, were the bones of a beautiful garden.……
