Great location right in the middle of Saturday night walking street, convenience to and from Chiang Mai airport, walking distance to the famous silver temple Wat Sri Suphan and Wat Muen San. Provide a relaxing onsen while staying and great freshness rooftop garden in the morning. Spacious room with lovely Japanese decor and nice bathtub. Best of all love the delicious Japanese breakfast meal. Worth staying for going around the old city of Chiang Mai.
The reason to stay was for the bath. The large bath was not full enough to have the jet to work. Terrible noise. I couldn't stay and had to go back to my room to shower only. The room tub was also leaking so couldn't soak there either. Need fixing.
Close to 7-11 and airport. Nice staff. Cute hotel and room. Just like we live in Japan.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
We needed a hotel close to the airport and decided on this one. The facility is nice, I just can't put excellent. Our room's air wasn't cold and it didn't have a window. The bed was comfortable and the staff was nice. Overall, it was 'okay'.
แย่มากๆ If you looking for onsen DON'T choose here

Hotel location is OK not far from airport and that's it. Breakfast is so so.
Staff attitude and service almost bad could tell I feel like I was neglected.
If you looking for good experience for Japanese onsen DO NOT choose this property.
This is the worst onsen and ryokan experience in my life !!
While you book a hotel with Japanese atmosphere with onsen, you will expect a hot bath. But when I go for that all onsen is COLD and many dust in all bathtub.
Yukata (Bathrobe) cold not tie properly because it sew in the wrong way. I told staff they just said "Yes, It is sew in wrong way" and do nothing. I have to resist to get new one.
Locker in onsen don't have a key or lock properly and have a rust nail on the floor! I could not imagine when people come for onsen, they could step on it with bear foot.
When I inform the staff at reception, he just listen and no action again.
I end up filling up bath tub in my room which is not what I expect for onsen at all.
It was really bad hotel and not worth the money at all. Please find other hotel instead for your trip.
Located on the outskirts of the south wall of old city it was a good location for us. Room was really clean and staff was super friendly. Only downside I found the bed to be a bit hard but that’s just a personal preference! We enjoyed our stay here. Would return
Small but mighty boutique hotel. We stayed here with our two kids (ages 6 and 4) and we booked the family room with the bunk bed. The staff went out of their way to may sure we felt welcome. We opted for breakfast every morning and it did not disappoint. A home style cooked Japanese breakfast was delicious. On saturday njghts, the parking lot is joined with the Wualai street market (which is actually recommended online) and is pretty convenient that it’s within walking distance. The owner sets up the parking lot area with tables and chairs and invites his guests to hangout outside with him and the staff. The hotel is a good trek from the old city but GRAB is so cheap, you can take one to and from. If you’re looking for great customer service stay here!
Hotel was clean and staff were kind and helpful. However the room was not cleaned once during our 3 day stay which mean piles of rubbish next to overflowing tiny hotel room bin and smelly towels. We even tried the “clean my room” sign to no effect. The fire alarm started beeping in the middle of the third night so we got no sleep on our last night.
Haikin Ryokan is a wonderful antidote to the usual hotels in Chiang Mai with it's Japanese theme. Their ofuro baths are a very nice addition to the hotel and the rooms are clean and spacious. The rooms facing the main road are a bit noisy but they kindly moved me to one facing the courtyard and that was much better. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind and went out of their way to make my stay a very pleasant one!
This is a very lovely Japanese style hotel with huge rooms, extremely clean, very comfortable. Tea, coffee and fruit are available all day in their large and comfortable lounge. They also have some sort of traditional Japanese bathing facilities, I think sort of like a spa, but we didn't use them. The location is very convenient, just south of the walls of the old city, with easy access to taxi/uber, etc. Best of all, the staff at the Haikin Ryokan were absolutely wonderful. They graciously accommodated both our very early arrival and our very late departure. When we told them at check in that we had an early tour the next morning, they prepared wonderful boxed breakfasts ahead of time for us and left them in the refrigerator for us to take with us - with super tasty sandwiches, milk, and juice. On our day of check out, when we returned from our Elephant tour at 5:00pm to collect our bags they even offered that we could shower again in our same room if we wanted to. I don't think I've ever been treated so kindly.
My initial room was relatively cramped so I asked if I could upgrade after the first night. Nut, the owner, graciously let me stay in his family quarters free of charge for the rest of the trip. Tanya, the manager, also did a nice job.
This hotel is so nice! It's a nice stroll to the old city center or a quick tuk tuk ride. Everything is very clean and quiet in this hotel. I love the traditional Japanese style of the hotel. The staff is extremely nice and there's even a friendly dog that lives there! They serve a traditional Japanese breakfast every morning and if you are not a fish person like me, they're kind enough to make you a delicious omelet.
