“Hotel Diamond Chico is a beautifully restored historic hotel with large room, comfortable beds, and a fabulous continental breakfast. We stayed there 2 nights, from June 24-26, while in town for our son’s orientation at Chico State. The hotel is within close walking distance to campus, restaurants, farmer’s market, and banks. “like: location, several quality eating facilities directly across street, but didn't feel like were staying at a strip mall. Friendly, helpful staff all we encountered breakfast offerings were simple, but slight changes made each day we were there did not like: public areas, i.e. downstairs bathrooms for "pool" use not cleaned well dirty towels on floor there from evening to next morning at ……

“DO NOT STAY HERE! Upon arrival, we spotted an un-housed person and his friend living under the staircase of where our room was located. We spoke to the front office women, who was very kind and she spoke to the (I’m guessing maintenance man or manager, not sure) man doing pool work, who did ask the people to leave. However, he said to them that he was asking them because “those people” complained. Yes. We did. They had their whole living room underneath the staircase, including alcohol,……

“My overall experience would have been a 3 to 4 star rating, up until I woke up in the morning, got up to go to the restroom, then upon returning to bed, discovered that I had rolled over and killed 3 small cockroaches in my sleep, which were squashed into the bed sheets! I immediately showered and left the property. To be fair, I answered all the rating questions without letting the roaches factor into the overall rating. I can deal with A LOT of things, but the bugs were a bridge too……

“Clean, quiet, staff very nice”

“Starting off there were cockroaches at the room, the microwave and fridge were in a horrible state, the towels provided were dirty; the bedding smelled horribly. The room itself looked and smelled bad. Not even 5 minutes into the room there was a roach. Really uncomfortable to rest knowing everything is so dirty”

“Besides the price which is very reasonable. Each time that we travel to Chico, always stay at this motel. I find the staff friendly and plenty of parking and the rooms are always clean. Next time we are in Chico our #1 Choice.”

“Overall good stay”

“The rooms are amazingly clean always, we've stay here every time were in town. The staff this last trip went over and above making sure we had what we needed to make sure our trip was comfortable. The breakfast was incredible (always), so many choices for hot or cold breakfast and what makes it stand out above the other hotels is that the hot breakfast choices change daily and you can build a grab and go bag if your on the run and cant sit down for breakfast. Parking is plentiful, and many……

“We stayed in Chico during a 2 week road trip in Northern California. Our room was perfect for what we needed, a nice sofa to lounge and watch some TV shows, good WiFi connection, spacious bathroom, clean and cozy bed, and blackout shades. We were a bit hungry and the cafe provided options we found appealing and tasty for dinner. Recommend the location as it is close to major retailers in case you need to resupply.”
